you dont need a summer only tire for a car to "handle" well (which is an arbitrary concept in the first place, especially on the street)
I have a performance oriented car.
I drive on old dry rotted goodyear all season tires.
I can still take any interstate exit ramp at 2x the posted limit.
if you need any more than that for "driving enjoyment" you (let me repeat myself) drive like a dipshit.
eschewing an all season tire for the "rare occasion" that you will be forced to go out in the snow is like not wearing a condom for the rare occasion that you fuck a girl with an STD.
It only takes once to fuck your shit up.
