Huh? If you have a performance-oriented car chances are you care about the handling of the car. You can't get a very good all season at the same price as some of the super-bang-for-the-buck performance tires so why would you put a crappy tire on the car for the rare occasion that you are forced to go out in the snow?

I don't think anyone would say they "need" more grip than a regular all season but for your driving enjoyment it's probably not the right choice.
