Feersty,
The 89' is a 300E according to our online inventory. The 90' is not in yet. I will find out about that one tomorrow. This is what our Chrysler site tells me but I am not sure how accurate it is. I was told they both run good.

Feersty, Randy Faul's is about the most honest tech I've ever spoken to. If he says the car is crap, it's probably crap. Car bash at the car show would be a great idea. Maybe turn it into a New car for Feersty fundraiser. Another idea would be to tow/drive it out somewhere, fill it with gas and light it.

Now I really call BS on the mechanic -
Listened to and drove the car today. I highly doubt its a rod bearing - there is no clacking noise, just a little rattle at certain RPMs that sounds like a loose heat shield. The car is running rough and doesn't have much power - it just feels like its not hitting on all 6 cylinders. Transmission shifts a little rough but it isn't horrible. I think new plugs / wires (maybe a coil pack) would fix the problem completely.

guessing what would fix it is ofttimes a waste of money.

And sometimes not... I mean, the car is kinda shot. I personally wouldn't fix it. But if its worth the $50 in parts to TRY to fix it it might be worth a shot for F-dogg.

Well, I think the best bet is to pull the plug wires one at a time and see if there is any change before buying parts. If all the plugs look ok all cylinders are still hitting then it's not worth buying the parts - if I pull a wire and there is no change in the way the engine runs then the problem is exposed.

only problem is that an sr20 motor probably has a premium seeing as how its a few weeks before race wars.
