BLINGMW Wrote:got anything to back this up? There's oilable filters out there that are said to filter BETTER than paper.
I wouldnt trust the technical claims of anyone thats trying to sell me something.
The cotton/foam mesh thats used as a filtration element on those things just isnt as good as paper, and thats why you have to keep them earled - Playing w/ fire on a turbo'd car, IMO. I also think the saving money by having a 'lifetime' filter is crap, a paper filter costs what, $10 or $15? A foam filter will cost 3-4x that much, plus the cleaning kits...

personally i went with the red. the guy i bought it from said it added 5-10 more horsepower than the blue.
<2cents> i noticed a huge difference when dropping the stock air box and going to a cone filter. i also went to lowes and got some black pvc piping and made a diffuser/nozzle setup to pipe in outside air closer to the filter.</2cents>

I wanted yellow, because yellow represents the driving and pimping ability I have attained with the installation of this remarkable device. But, consider, by adding Green (the color of money) to Yellow (the color, as I've already mentioned, of mad skillz), one arrives at Blue... So, you see, it makes sense for JWT to offer their POP Charger in this color, and this color only - because it is the best, and will not die like the rest.

The stock airbox location is actually basically the closest point to outside air that you can get...

my filter is in the exact place of the stocker. the stock box had a pipe feeding air from in front of the radiator too. so my box wasn't very close to the outside air because it needed it so i made one for the cone filter too. before i did this stuff i noticed the filter was getting really hot so i fabbed a heat shield and did the piping thing and noticed a big difference on the butt dyno.

ITG flows better and traps finer dirt particles than K&N. Also flows better with particles in the filter. Of course its been quite a while since I did the research, so I dont have any links for it.
They are pretty big in europe, (and very popular with BMW and p-cars) and in fact I had to order it from over seas.
