Project 2.Slow Mazda3
Scott Wrote:I'll have some time one afternoon/evening next week if you still need a hand.

That would be nice if you have a chance since I have full interior to do. Go a lot faster with two people like it did today.

I think this is what I got done today with Justin's help over like 3 and a half hours:

1. Cut endlinks off aftermarket bar so I can sell it
2. Camber arm passenger side
3. Driver side suspension (camber arm, spring, and shock)
4. Rear sway bar and new endlinks
5. Took out seats
6. Took out harnesses/eye bolts
7. Took out roll bar

Car played nice for once. Just need to start the selling train, throw in plastic hole pieces, take out carpet, put in new carpet, put in seats, seat belts, plastics, door panels, and a lot more. Then probably get an exhaust shop to cut and weld factory cat back in and sell it off since I can't get header put it won't pass inspection as is.

The saga continues but hopefully almost done.

So, this car is mostly ready to be sold now that I made my mind up. Everything has been together except I have an ABS light on from awhile back. Code is C0031 - Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor (Continuous Memory DTC) read from my specific Mistu/Mazda code reader. It's not a fault code or something that will be read like a CEL so they couldn't even see the code with their ABS scanner. Regardless it means abs sensor, wiring, tone rings, or module. I replaced both ABS sensors, unplugged battery and drove it above the 15mph diagnostic. Light was still on. Wiring looked good and no cracked rings.

Took it to a local reputable shop. They didn't notice wiring was bad with volt meter and confirmed the rings were fine. I replaced both front ABS sensors so that leaves the ABS module/pump.

I bought the abs module/pump off ebay and it got delivered today. I inspect and see one of the threads is cross threaded where a hard line goes into the module.... Fuck it I'm waiting until next week regardless. I contacted the seller about the issue and let them know I'm going to re-tap and hope the hard line seals. The product is useless if it can't seal a hard line so I'm hoping I'll win a refund regardless even if I try to install the item. If I don't get a refund I don't care they are probably getting negative feedback regardless. I just want the car out of my life. The shitty part if it doesn't work I'm paying for the one hour of labor or whatever it will be.

Edit: I wanted to post this just so people can get some good laughs and entertainment from the continual struggle bus

Good News:

Once the ABS light is off the dash it will pass inspection. It will need an alignment (luckily I have lifetime from Firestone) and it will be up for sale. $5k is harsh NADA Value Trade-In. $6k is KBB private property fair value. So hoping for $5-6k....
