Did some digging and realized my local store here has them for $380 on a regular basis. Add in shipping and FFL transfer and it's actually cheaper than buying direct. Maybe I should just go there and look at them both...
Of course, now it's farther to go: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/gun-store-owner-moving-out-of-seattle-because-of-new-tax/">http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-new ... f-new-tax/</a><!-- m -->
I will take pleasure in paying no city taxes and then bringing the gun back into the city.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Ah those hyper liberal cities, I don't know how you live up there man. The mountains must be just that nice.
And to discourage the sale of ammo and firearms to responsible citizens despite the recent press your city is getting on the benefit of responsible concealed carry? Too much of the peace leaf going around your legislature:

Olympia != Seattle, thank God. It isn't much better, but it is a hair more sane.
When Seattle's violent crime doesn't drop a tic, and there's a net loss in revenue from this tax I'm sure the city council will do jack shit.

FTFY.
I don't think they actually believe it will help reduce crime. The crime rate here can't really go that much lower - 20 murders in a year is considered bad.
It was a tax land grab because we're short on funding and don't have a state income tax (another reason I can live here). I don't think they've realized they'll probably be at a net loss because of it... despite me emailing them as such. Well, that and it was a political move by the city council to get re-elected.

Literal knife to a gun fight.
Kicking around the idea of a Sub Compact 9.
Any thoughts? Felt up a Sig 290 the other day and liked it, any other recommendations? 9mm only. I'm keeping to one caliber for my handguns.
I've been trying to talk myself into a P30SK for about a year.... but not sure if that jives with your budget.

After a conversation with a consultant. I need a new holster for my shield, or to start carrying at 4:30/5 instead of 3/3:30. Which should resolve my summer printing concerns instead of going with a marginally smaller carry gun.

Yeah when I carry mine is about a the "4:30-5:00" spot using an Uncle Mike's holster. It's awesome because it's IWB and small. I also have a N82 tactical holster for my shield that is mega comfy but way too big and hot during the summer, it just sits in my safe now.

Think I'm gonna go Alien gear. Dad just grabbed one, and I'm impressed. The price is amazing and the ability to purchase multiple firearm shells will allow me switch it up if and when I want.

Gallamore has a Shield9, and the only 9mm's smaller than that are only smaller by the tiniest of margins:
The XDS, G43, Shield9, PF-9, PPS, Nano, and P290 are all about as small as you can get a 9mm handgun to be. But it's still a gun, and you'll need to take the way you dress and carry into account when concealing. Justin is shaped pretty "straight", so when he wears just off his hip, the gun sticks out with the holster he uses. I imagine appendix carry would be print free, as would small of back carry, but he's not got all that many places to hide a gun.
As far as specifically, the G43 and the XDM (or XDS, or Whatever) losing .5" in one dimension isn't going to make is gun disappear, so it isnt' worth buying a new gun.

So my coworker bought an ar pistol several months ago and after playing with it a few times and shooting it...you guys know where this is going.
Picked up a Diamondback DB15 pistol with the keymod side rails. Haven't had a chance to do anything more than toss a red-dot optic on it so far. Debating between the sigbrace and the blade brace, haven't made my mind up yet. Any thoughts/opinions from owners of either? Not much else planned for this rifle accessory wise, maybe a flashlight for the bottom rail and a sling. May also change out the flash hider at some point, the one of this gun is pretty knarly looking, might pick up something more refined/cleaner looking.
There is an open range day next week and I'm planning on taking it out and putting it through some paces. The shop I bought it from doesn't offer LE discounts on ar pistols because they don't get them all that often, but they threw in a free Glock holster for me to make up for it.

I have an opinion!
Frankly I am flabbergasted that the Blade "brace" WHICH IS TOTALLY NOT A STOCK YOU GUYZ EL OH EL was permitted by the ATF. Get that one. The SIG brace is kind of floppy, while the blade...
JESUS CHRIST THE BLADE IS JUST A STOCK. It's a stock. We all know how you're going to use it and since no ATF agents have ever followed me to the range get that one and don't post pictures or videos of you using it incorrectly. It's also cheaper.

Ended up buying the blade brace on Saturday morning. $50 for a stoc....forearm brace was a pretty good deal. Sturdy, light and easy to install. For the life of me I can't see how it provides any forearm support for shooting though. It did come with a nice letter from the ATF saying it's legal. Sent a picture to a local unnamed federal agent who may or may not work for the ATF and received a reply of "nice stock."

The intended use is that you would either take advantage of the sling slots, I mean the bracing strap slots and strap it to your forearm or simply hold it like this to reduce lateral movement:
"Rex, that's fucking retarded."
Yep. Sure is.
