Just to get this event information out early as I said I would as VP. Our annual Fall Kline's meet will take place on Monday, September 1st. We will be meeting on the Showker Deck around 7:30pm and will leave by 8pm to head to Kline's. Please arrive sometime between then.
We will be chatting and doing a few ice breakers to get to know the newer people to the club. We will also be assigning and trying our our 'buddy' system so people can contact and talk to someone when needed. We want to get a stronger club appearance through the entire year not just for the first few events so I think this 'buddy' system will help out a bit with that problem.
Let's try to get more pictures of everyone and their cars this year? I know Scott has his drone with the GoPro but close up pictures would be nice. Hope to see you all out there.

You guys may want to check the calendar. Isn't student org night august 29th from 7:00-9:00?
Might need be the best night to do this. Even if you moved it later that night, most people aren't going to leave with you on that first night they find especially when they have other clubs to check out.
Also, when you do do it, may want to extend the showker deck meet so you can do a few ice breakers up there so that people are comfortable with you guys. Remember, this will probably be their first time off campus since getting there and they may be nervous to jump in a car with a stranger.

We've discussed it. The meet is on Monday, which is better. We know those crazy freshmen want to get drunk and dry hump each other on the first Friday.
Which is also what I plan to do on Friday, so everything works out.
So Monday as in Sept 1? Are we having a classroom meet the week before, the week of, or the week after the deck meet? I can already see me not being able to make it anyways so I don't even know why I'm asking....

Alrighty folks. We're all grabbing dinner at Capitol Ale with Jake at 5:30 then heading to the deck to meet at 7-7:30. We had a great turn out at Student org night and we're expecting great member retention this year.
The meet was an awesome success! All the new members are super cool!

Drive down from NoVA was really pretty... took 211 West to 42. Highlight of my drive was approaching a corner on 211 and seeing a big white GMC pickup with a big enclosed trailer wagging behind it coming the other direction... impeccable timing, DJ & co!
