Does anyone volunteer as tribute for jumping in my car as an instructor for the Hyperdrive?

They'll have an instructor assigned to you when you show up for your HyperDrive session.

I know, I just want to be able to push it a bit is all and I was very thankful for Maeng last time. Sam has just told me bad experiences about his instructor...

Ah, ok. Will the S2K be there?

yeah, I'm going to drive it but I've got some slight alignment issues right now so we'll see how things go!

Either had a case of the 1% bad instructors, OR he simply was just not at a level he should have been pushing it. I have been in QUITE a few new-to-the-track car guys that think they know how to push it, when really the car is on the edge of spinning and they aren't going fast at all. So we tend to have to have them slow down to get them back onto a line that will make them faster in the end (and not kill them).

I tend to find the younger a person is, with more of a tuner car, the more likely I am to get the "balls deep in a corner very dangerous about to spin/understeer off" thinking he is going fast but actually going very slow, trashing the car, and put us in danger.

Only "bad" instructor I've ever had was a very nice, very knowledgeable older gentleman who was a fantastic instructor... but he had to weigh 400lbs. Do you know how much slower a 3,600lb E36 feels? I was bogging it out of Oak Tree and all of a sudden my brakes felt ever so slightly less effective.

I'm getting on grid early on Saturday to hopefully get the pick of the fittest instructors.

That's understandable. I would feel the exact same way if I was in another person's car and they were just plain scary. I doubt I'll be fast at this Hyperdrive. It will take quite a few events before I do get faster. Idk. I will just see how the experience is compared to my previous. Just going to focus on braking and a few things as you mentioned.

Pshhh Joey, I plan to overtake you mid corner if you don't mind

Mebbe.

Idk the power difference isn't *that* drastic, and who knows how many horsepowers have fallen out of my car over the years. It also looks like a pretty tight circuit, both cars have extensive suspension mods and we're on similar tires but I think yours might be more grippy than mine so we might get to dance a little. On the straights though... yeah. Smile

Meh you have 100hp on me and 2 second quicker car. I'm 300 pounds lighter. You shouldn't have any issue with me around the whole track depending on your tires. Who knows. It will be fun regardless

Yeah, who knows how much power my car makes. All we know is at one point it had 240hp/225ft-lbs. Then it got driven hard and put away wet for 185,000 miles and had some extra shit bolted onto it that it sorta doesn't really have a tune for. :dunno: My guess would be anywhere between 240-260hp but I doubt any more than that.

But yea, anyway, its going to be a great time. I'm not going to run my leaky old motor to the ragged edge with 7k RPM shifts for 20 minutes straight, but I am looking forward to really putting my new suspension setup through it's paces, it was an absolute blast at the autocross I did with DJ and Jess a while ago.
