I've recently picked up a mitsubishi td04h -15g turbo, downpipe, charge piping and manifold for a pretty decent price. There are a couple things i'd like to do, but am not sure if i have the proper skill and/or knowledge.
1. I'd like to do a rebuild on it to get all the bearings and everything cleaned out and get it looking so fresh and so clean clean. Dj, would you be willing to either help me out, walk me through it, or possibly do it for me if i paid you?
2. Regarding the internal wastegate, My goal with the build i'm planning is to have between 200 and 250 to the wheels. Obviously with a small turbo, and small wastegate, this will probably be pushing the limit of the turbo, but i like how small the turbo is and how fast it will spool. I'm going to be doing all of the supporting mods to hopefulyl get around that goal, including the hondata s300 for tuning purposes. My question is, will the stock internal wastegate spring be able to get me to that power level? and if not, how hard is it to convert to an external wastegate?
and just to reduce questions, i'm rebuilding te bottom end of my stock d16a6 with forged internals, .5mm oversized pistons, and stock head. no vtec
i'll be running rc injectors, walbro fuel pump, and all the necessary fuel upgrades to go along with the extra boost, as well as an intercooler. sotck motor is rated at 106, so this will be a big jump, and i am hoping to run around 12 psi, as that is what i've read is about the peak of the efficiency range for this turbo, but correct me if i'm wrong.
