Idk who the hell posted the pictures of the mustangs and the vettes but you are far from sane if you think thats flush. The point is to have the best and most attactive suspension/offset to maintain the strongest center of gravity. Those vettes.....or the stang......christ, might as well throw rims on a boat and call it a monster truck because i'd need a ladder to get into one of those and if you honestly think that would hold up on a course......ya know.....with some turns. (point being not a drag strip) then i'd love to see that take a turn and not kill everyone trying to watch the race.

The cars that he is giving examples for have more logical reasons than those "American Muscle" pieces of V8 trash you all think are cool because you're daddy drove one. Those cars are flush because of alot of logical and extremely well thought out calculations and products. Buying a stock cobra or Roush mustang does not posses "Hella Flush" only "Hella Heavy".

Please do not waste peoples time with throwing a car into a conversation that literally does the exact opposite of whats being talked about.

Fair enough that you've experienced it. But in response there hasn't been much logic. Simply generalizations of how its unusable. That's all.

dont worry bout me. hah. it's all good. I know of the e-cock. haha. Just think the arguments put out are little irrational :dunno:

Alright yes there has been a ton of generalizations. I apologize, my main objection to most drift cars (although they arent used for trying to go as fast around a corner as possible so maybe I should dump why they need a proper suspension for going faster) is that they typically use spring rates and damping developed over in Japan, where they have perfectly smooth tracks and also the tendency for Japanese shocks to be complete junk on the lower end (Tein, Buddy Club, Megan Racing, etc.).

Good, but incredibly simple explanation of shock selections- http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets6.html

Second, the use of the term lower the gravity. For him to say, we lower it for "stronger"(WTF) gravity makes me almost want to puke. Obviously no real research on suspension design, geometry, and engineering has taken place for that comment to be made. I can explain it, but might as well give you this reference that again is simple. (mainy read up on roll center's please, now his is a generalization, but it applies to cars using stock suspension geometry as 99% of drifters are. You can correctly "dump" a car by serious modification of geometry, but I have not seen this in one drifters and actually most road racer's cars. Thats why driftres go into road racing paddocks and go eewww sooo much wheel gap, its cause the road racers actually care.)

Now if you are wayyyy beyond these simple explanations, I would love to have a talk more about suspension as I am just scraping the tip of the iceberg learning about natural frequency rates, motion ratios, and actually being able to understand dyno plots at different frequencies.

I only assumed as I saw nowhere in your pictures of adjusting kingpins or roll center adjustment using lower control arm mounting points and pickups. So I may be completely wrong.

PS- I suck at suspension theory, anybody have any books lying around? I dont feel like ordering a bunch online and this topic has piqued my interest again. I did some online searching to help Novazenki, but good lord most of the junk on the web is terrible and some flat-out wrong, SAE website isnt bad, but most of the stuff up there is on forums from kids going, I lowered my car on ebay springs and I can tell it handles better (ugh).

really guys? I'm right here reading this too. haha. I don't have the time, let alone do I care nearly enough to stir up crap within a group of car guys that I don't really know many people from. Seriously, dont be ridiculous. admins check ip's if you must. but sheish. I think it was my friend I was talking to the other day about this thread.

No, they're not. Different IPs, different emails, etc.

Now everyone stop shitting up Jon's thread. Keep the talk about HellaFlush and/or suspension stuff. No more back-n-forth or this gets locked, okay?
