I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...
Yeah I'll only be here today though

So what did everyone think of the Baltimore GP? From the few people I've talked to, everyone said they had a good time. I drove up and parked at BWI, then took the light rail to the track but that took a long ass time, I think I might ride my bike in next year or something.
I got a gen adm ticket for free, but next year I'll definitely go with the grandstands. Where was everyone else sitting?

I thought it was a good race that was fairly well organized for a first. There was some bullshit with passes, lines and impassable/impossible routes but all in all, it wasn't bad. Having the paddock indoors, in the A/C, was pretty sweet.
We ended up getting a room in the Intercontinental just for the race. We had an awesome view a few floors above Turn 3 /Hairpin. The room wasn't that cheap, but when you consider the cost for grandstands for a couple people it was a bargain... and it had A/C and TV... and you could wheel in an assload of beer and food (which we didn't 'cause it was a last minute thing).
This is a pic I snapped with my cell phone. I have about 600 to go through in the next week or two.
This is a crappy cell phone pic my wife took of the cluster-fuck at the restart.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
I parked at Mondawmin Mall and rode the subway to Charles Center, did it quite early and was easy peasy.
Overall I had a great time, wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the apre' race action. I also went with gen admin and the best viewing area I found was from outside the grounds at the end of the hairpin. Not sure if that was blocked off more on Sunday or not. A lot of the better grounds viewing areas were of course reserved "patios".
Some growing pains to be had - I found walking around a bit frustrating with the number of dead ends. I agree with the grandstand next year but need to be careful still. I watched the race from the fence next a guy that had a VIP pass and said they were pretty much on a straight and all you saw were cars individually flying by. Folks in the corvette corral were moved to different stands when they found their view was blocked by trees. Those in the hairpin area - played hell getting back to the inside of the track.
I mean, it's not easy to fence off a city in an area like that so overall I think they did a good job. The setting was fantastic, I've always loved that downtown area.
Watched a lot from the chicane, you could sneak in front the grandstand there. My favorite from there:

I still have like 400 pics to go through, but here's two. It's apparent in a lot of these I was kinda drunk.
