So yeah, ALMS and Indy are coming to Baltimore on the streets!!! I remember vaguely when I was much younger the Washington DC ALMS event and cant wait to see it locally again. I just bought my 3 day pass, going to be interesting doing SCCA Solo Nationals and Pro Solo the 27th-31st in Lincoln Nebraska, driving back to Baltimore for this the 2nd through the 4th and then NASA Nationals 8th-10th. I better have the car prepped early

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Anybody else have any idea where they are staying? Want to go in on an MM room?

My plan is also to do the 3-day pass. DJ, what pass did you get? Grounds? Reserved Grand Stand?

So this is coming up next weekend! I've been waiting a long time to see how they have transformed Baltimore. I lived in the city for 3 years, so it should be a lot of fun to see.

I'll be there with my fiancee and my old roommate Sameer (some of you know him) and his fiancee. I'll be sporting MM clothes, so keep an eye out for me. Who is actually going? It would be nice to catch up for a few minutes.

Yeah, from 4-6 I think.

Damn put this on the back-burner too long...was hoping to park in the corvette corral but they sold out before I even realized they were on sale. Going up for the day Saturday to catch the open wheel practice and qualifying and ALMS race.

I live 10 minutes outside of Baltimore and going into the city frequently let me watch the streets evolve. The roads that the course will be on are smooth beyond belief. I believe one street was widened (a few inches? less than a foot?). The grand stands dominate the most of the sidewalks. The streets have been lined with jersey walls for a few weeks and recently they finished installing the fences atop the walls. While the walls were being put in place, they were marking the corners with stacks of fresh tires. I drove into Baltimore one day and stopped at a light and saw 4 tires sitting on the side of the road. I was thinking who the hell left 4 brand new tires sitting in Baltimore City?! Then I realized what they were for. Pretty funny.

We are in the #8 grand stand if you look at the track map on the website. I'm sure we'll be walking around a lot too so I'm not sure what time we could meet up. email me your number if you want and we'll try and figure something out on Saturday.

Any interest in an MM beer meeting after the Indy practice 1:30ish in the party zone by the winners circle? (or other relatively central location)

If anyone is interested, the Cat's Eye Pub in Fell's Point is hosting a 944 Cup event Saturday 3-10p. There will be a car or two on display (big deal?), trophy girls (bigger deal) and free drinks for anyone in 944 Cup schwag (biggest deal).

We'll have a couple hats on hand. Not sure the going rate, but for the price of 2-3 drinks you could drink free for hours.
