WTB/ Wheels + Tires
#1
Looking to buy anything that will fit my car but notably looking for wheels preferably:

18's or 17's at 8-8.5 width and 5*114 PCD

Tires, i'm really looking for winter tires at the moment but i'm also looking for decently priced summer tires as well once these Advan A10's have had their say.

I'm also looking for any suggestions for purchase

Thanks in advance guys

:FLAME SUITE ON: I would recommend ROTAs, IMO you cant get a better wheel for the money. Lots of sizes and styles, most are knockoffs of other way more expensive wheels, but they are just as light, alotta the guys here run them, Kyle, DJ had some, Adam F, Shea, David I think, Jesus, and myself.
Check out their wheel selections/pics here..... http://rotawheels.com/

I went on the EVOm Forums and did a lil research and for wheels, I was looking around and it looks like you can use the EVO 8 Enkeis as well for say daily/auto-x/Track wheels, a guy is running those on a ralliart with some 245 hoosiers, so that may be a cheaper alternative for you. You can usually find these wheels possibly with tires for DIRT cheap. They are 17x8s.
Pic of the Enkeis w/ Hoosiers, pretty sure that car is lowered, pic is from EVOm, 3rd page of the link given below.

17s or 18s, depends on your budget, 18in tires and wheels are mo expensive, so just figure that in when your replacing your tires. Widest wheel you can get, looks like 18x9s +45 with 245/40/18s are your best bet but once your lowered you may rub in the rear a little without rolling your fenders. Dunno if you have seen this thread or not but may wanna take a look, http://forums.evolutionm.net/09-ralliart...tment.html
If it were me, I would go 18x9s +45 but do a 235/40/18, that way you shouldn't rub since the tire is smaller and a little stretched but you still have the 9in wheel, for when you want to add more rubber. You'll eventually wish you had gotten the widest wheel you could anyway so why waste money on the 8s. Smallest you should go IMO is the 8.5.

Summer Tires, depends on what ya want, a very aggressive summer tire with like a 200 tread rating, or something that will be great for some spirited drives and last a lil while, and what your budget is. Give us a budget per tire/what your looking to do and we can throw you some options.

Wow, thanks that was a lot more information than i expected, i really do appreciate it.

I had also been looking around on EvoM hoping that someone would be selling their wheels and tires but the best i found were only 17x17.5. After your suggestion however it seems that i would most likely be looking for 17x8.5, is there any positive or negative between a 17 and a 18 or is it pretty much negligible? I also saw Rotas the other day and they seemed nice to me, so I would not be opposed to the idea. The Enkeis picture did not show up, but that seems like a great idea if i can find them at a low price, even at 17x8.

As for summer tires, i just want a good gripping tire that can handle the occasional spirited drive (like 33W) without squealing like these do. I may also do the occasional AutoX, and i would need them to last a decent amount of time, although my plan is to use my current rims with a winter tire and jsut leave that as a winter setup, so i suppose that would save tread on the summers obviously. So per tire for summer i would be looking to spend at most 150 per tire if they would last me about a year, although obviously the cheaper the better.

pic fixed,

17 vs 18, like I said cost IMO would be your biggest thing. Check on vadriven.com, dcevoclub.com, dsmtuners.com for some possible used wheels for sale. Those EVO 8 or even the EVO 9, same size different style, Enkeis, if you like them, can be found easily, just let me know, or DJ can probably find you some as well.

I dont have many wheel sets left, too bad you didnt let me know earlier. I just sold a set of 18x8.5 5zigen Hyper Black last week......I do have a set of wheels that fit on evos, im not sure on the ralliart, the backs are brand new, the fronts are a bit used, 18x9.5 tho so im not sure it would fit on the ralliart.

I also have a set of 17x9 5zigens in +35 offset in gunmetal.

Last set I have is a set of 17x8 Rota Torques in gunmetal with good condition tires.

which would look good on your car IMO. Sorry im really really bored at work. I think these would be a great choice, 17x8 is by no means small you can still put a 245 on there.

^^^^ That's exact same wheel i have. Same color, size and everything. It's 5x100 though or else I'd let you bolt one or two up to see how they look on your car.

Yea go with some torques. The gunmetal color is great and doesnt really show dirt at all. I think they would look good with your color too
