Right at that bridge there is a little shop (oposite side of the hwy from walmart), there is a one bay that you can see from the road. Stop in there on Saturday morning. They'll put it on for ya, no questions asked.
-c That's Murph's. That's where I went. I spoke to murph himself this morning. I was turned down. ("That's a $25,000 fine") Any other suggestions??

Although I do believe the fine was raised a few years ago. And if you get caught without a cat in VA on an origionally catalyst car I believe last I checked the fines and charges amount to just over $50,000 for not having a cat/impropper equipment.
At the very least why dont you get an old cat, punch it out, put a straight exhaust tube through it to avoid turbulance problems with a large open chamber in the exhaust system and bolt it back up to your car. This way it looks like you have a cat, if you get busted ever you can just deny that you knew the cat wasnt gutted... but the most important thing is to have it look like theres a cat under there.

Less backpressure creates less heat. On RX7s, it's considered a reliability mod to use a downpipe and midpipe instead of both of the cats.
Less backpressure also puts less strain on the turbo... it also allows for better air flow. that's also good on turbo cars
oh, and I'd love to have a gutted car with a straight pipe through, but I'd have to buy a new cat, gut it, and buy a blowtorch, welder, and dremel, to cut off the old heat shielding and get everything done under there. I'd love to have shop access.... BRETT!!!
