VA inspection sucks - JackoliciousLegs - 08-18-2004 Anyone know where I can pass my car w/ no cats? PS. I failed because I wired my foglights on and I have a small exhaust leak which is going in to get fixed right now. - .RJ - 08-18-2004 For safety inxpection you *might* get by w/o a cat, but I'm not sure. Emissions, no way in hell. Just register the car in harrisonburg. Re: VA inspection sucks - Sijray21 - 08-18-2004 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:Anyone know where I can pass my car w/ no cats? if you take the car to the shell near my house you'll pass the safety no problem (just leave the fog's off) emissions....agreeing with rice boi, no way you'll pass without cats unless someone has a connection with a dealer that would grant him a pass, but for a little extra $$$, but if i remember correctly it's all controled with a dmv software Re: VA inspection sucks - Dragon - 08-18-2004 theguywiththeSi Wrote:but if i remember correctly it's all controled with a dmv softwareYup there's no way getting around emissions if you're in a county that requires it. Jack just pull and RJ and don't bother with it, afterall the Accord's registration and inspection died in 02/04 - navin - 08-18-2004 Can i register my shitbox car in Harrisonburg somehow, eventho I reside in Fairfax..?? - Mike - 08-18-2004 navin Wrote:Can i register my shitbox car in Harrisonburg somehow, eventho I reside in Fairfax..?? You? Legally? No. Jack? Legally? Yes. He just needs to call the DMV and tell them that his car is garaged in Harrisonburg. - navin - 08-18-2004 phuck da man - Feersty - 08-18-2004 So Harrisonburg doesn't require annual emission testing? - Mike - 08-18-2004 Feersty Wrote:So Harrisonburg doesn't require annual emission testing? Nope, just "safety."   I highly recommend the Exxon down by the motor mile. - Dragon - 08-18-2004 Negative Ghostrider. - JohnC - 08-18-2004 As mentioned in my .sig, the Golf failed inspection here in Charlottesville - I took it to some little shop down the street from the office and they failed it for the front brakes, rear tires, and the serpentine and power steering belts... And then they offered to fix it all for the low price of $700... I laughed in their face. - .RJ - 08-18-2004 Did you tell them to "pack sand" ? - 83Rabbit - 08-18-2004 aw, jack fails for his ubercoolsuperawesome fog light mod  Ya mang, register it elsewhere. My car is garaged in richmond and therefore requires no emissions hock: BAYUM! 8)
- Maengelito - 08-18-2004 i think emissions is only required in nova for virginia. its hard to fudge it to because the sniffer test is sent to the dmv directly i think... - Evan - 08-18-2004 why dont you have a cat? there isnt any reason to not have one on a street car, and plenty of reasons to have one. Especially on a rotary. - white_2kgt - 08-18-2004 not having cats will cause you to fail the visual, they won't even bother w/ the rollers. Do they still do the rollers in VA? In MD they just hook up ODBII cars to the computer and see if it throws codes. In VA just NOVA and portsmouth/norfolk does emissions. -c - bluhayz - 08-18-2004 it's people like you jack who are destroying this earth! We need the clean air to let our babies grow w/o deformities and wierd alien attributes. You're ruining our world!..... I hate you... I really really hate you. :-) - bluhayz - 08-18-2004 and because most of you don't know me... that was so totally a joke. - KPWSerpiente - 08-18-2004 Snizzap...no emissions in the Hburg? Guess it is a good thing I was going to be registering here anyway. A cat on a boosted car sucks. Never let the man hold you to it. -T - bluhayz - 08-19-2004 problem is, emissions or no emissions, a car w/o the cats will pass the safety inspection. That's what the guy at shenendoah auto center said today. |
