Hi!



Basically... I'm Jake. I'm a freshman and I'm really glad to be here at JMU. I'm a member of the MRDs and that takes up way too much free time, so I dunno how much I'll be able to participate this first semester. Not having a car on campus is killing me. Speaking of cars, I don't really drive anything crazy-cool, but I (usually) love my car anyway. It's an 01 Ford Escape, V6 with 4x4. Tons of fun in the snow, overly lousy gas mileage, and three liters of Duratec under the hood. I want to ditch it once money is more available, and get something fun. Right now I'm thinking slightly used BMW or Miata. Has to be a convertible, and oh yeah, a stick. I hate automatics and can't stand it when people buy really sweet sports cars and get an auto.

Random fact: I'm a photographer. Self-taught and still learning, but I think I'm pretty good and would love to be able to shoot for MM if the chance presents itself. I'm a SMAD major, concentrating in print journalism, FYI.

Haha, nothing bad about the 3.0L - it's the fact Ford put the ATX from the Contour in the Escape, and it can't handle the extra weight/power. Self-destruction is almost certain before 100,000 miles.

Nice Taurii - always liked the SHOs. Dad had a 94 LX... not nearly as fun :roll:

Doesn't matter what you drive around these parts as long as you like cars. We've got a wide variety of things floating around, which makes this place so much better. As was noted above, there's lots of Haterade being passed around on the forum, but we really are a very tight group of friends, regardless of how it seems sometimes.
