Current Projects:
I have an EVO 3 filter housing along with an oil cooler setup going in, thermostatic controller already built into the filter housing
I have Martin at VIP garage building me a Manual Transmission Cooler, with of course thermostatic control.
Intake ducting and radiator ducting

Future Projects:
I am running stock shocks with intrax springs because they are awesome for daily driver duty. The intrax springs have softer spring reates than stock, so it actually rides more comfortable than stock, and since our stock shocks are KYBs specially gas-calibrated (wutever the fuck that means, probably bullshit) they seem to be handling it the past year.
As soon as I Get myself a comfortable daily driver (in 1.5 to 3 years lol), the dsm will become a track whore, at which point the interior will be gutted, stereo removed, roll cage put in, and JIC coilovers put in. The HIC coilovers would be waaaaayyy to much of a bitch daily driving.
As far as wheels, I will probably go 17x9s with 255s or 17x10.5s with 285s, the latter sticking out.
Also a Carbon Trix vent will be installed to help expel hot air, this may be soon though, as I would love to take her on track before she gets the track treatment.

She will be run in HPDE events until I receive enough credits to go into Unlimited or Time Trials. Any advice from actual racers, or insight from other people. If your just coming into say your focus is better or DSMs suck, please keep it out of this thread. You can shit up plenty other threads.

Nice thread DJ... I actually had no idea what you had on this car until I just read the mod list. Can't wait to see this car on track and perhaps we can hit up a few of the same events while we are still in noob level HPDE. Plan on doing any events this summer?

Oh yea.. Focus FTW.

im interested in figuring out some type of radiator ducting and a Air box setup, maybe we can work together on this. They only make ducting for the EVOs and other shitty cars.

Yeah the airbox setup I already have started cutting and getting the pipng the way I want it. I went with REALLY large ducting as I wanted as much air as possible through there. Its like 4 inch piping or something like that but it fits, along with a collector. All I have to do is cut up a hole large enough for the 4inch pipe. I am worried that cutting too much sheetmetal will weaken the structure, but I really doubt that the metal right there is structural. Also I need to build a heat shield for it.

Another thing I plan to do easter weekend is boost leak test. I have some probably somewhere so I need to do it. If it is the manifold I will have to remove the manifold to fix it, so at that time I AM going to do an alternator relocation. Since I removed my a/c beneath the manifold at the back of the motor, I can get a kit to move my alternator to where the a/c compressor was. This moves more weight inward, also the alternator will not see of any of the heat of the radiator, turbo and exhaust that are literally 4 inches from the alternator. So I will hopefully get a longer life alternator/ better power.

Also I got the ingalls camber kit in, but I looked back at my camber up front and it is at 2 degrees up front and .3 degrees in the rear. So I actually didnt need the front kit, and I am going to have to remove some of my washers in the rear to get the rear at about 1.5 degrees. Also the toe in the rear needs to be completely eliminated, the toe up front pull a little off.

Also gonna order a heat shield this week and get some exhaust wrap. Gonna pull my turbo, manifold, and o2 off and heat-wrap all of it. and halfway down the downpipe, so I can keep some heat in them and off of my radiator and engine bay.

Anyone know of any good body shops, ill be visiting some this week to determine where I want to go, but I would obviously enjoy any recommendations.

Been researching the crap out of autoxing and road racing DSMs and the amount of knowledge springing up has exploded in the last few months....Hell Dsmtuners.com forums has been around for 5-6 years and they always had a drag section, now in the past few months they added a road racing/ autox section...

Justin I found a GREAT site for autocrossing DSMs, in 1998 he barely lost to another DSM in the SCCA nationals that won it, but he had won more prosolo SCCA autocross events than any other car in the class.

Also for anyone wanting info on shocks, this guy really knows his stuff, this is only a brief part, but he is on the DSM boards, worked for ATI suspensions as their engineer, and has done a ton of shit with suspensions...

This is why I am now going over to a Koni setup instead of JIC or Tein, and will eventually get them revalved and then custom springs and RRE sperical mount top hats.
