Sorry guys...not buying anything more likely to blow up.

I wish I had the money to do a stroker motor. 2.3 liters with twice the camshaft of a Merkur would be nice...but not in my budget.

I havn't even started to tear the car down but I'm now guessing that major detonation took place (ok...so this isn't a guess) but I doubt the piston was thrown into the plugs/valves like originally theorized. The car just was't run that hard recentely.

I've decided to take my boy's 6 bolt block and assemble a fresh bottom end myself with some help from my boys of course. New topline pistons, eagle rods and clevite/arp all around. Not what I would consider a built motor...but I expect my first engine build to go bad sooner rather than later so I'm not even going to consider buying the expensive shit this time around.

Car should be on the road again in the few months...pending me getting a job somewhere on the metro line in a timely fashion.

What stroker kit gives you 2.3? I've always heard 2.2...

You never heard 2.2 rex. A 4g64 crank in a 4g63 gives you about 2.3 liters.

I really want to go crazy on it...but I lack the funds and time right now. Plus the first motor you assemble will probably go earlier rather than later...so build it up as cheap as possible.

What I really need to do is stop fucking around with the car and finish my degree but that's a whole nother issue.

I could have sworn there was some japanese kit that gave you 2.2. I know the 64 crank gave you 2.3. Oh well.
