Does anyone know anything about the seemingly abandoned 2003 BMW 540i at hunters ridge? It has been sitting in the same spot for nearly a year now with a trash bag over the right rear window (the regulators go out all the time so that is not a surprise), the tags are expired, and I am interested in another e39 540i project this year. If anyone knows anything about the car or the owner let me know, I'm interested in buying the car

Its an automatic too. And he didn't know the state of the tires or subframe bushings. Lol
10k is ludicrous, unless the car is a one owner, sub 50k miles with service history from new and timing chain guide service. The car, as it sits, if it is sub 120k miles, should bring 2-4k with no prior maintenance history, the car is in "decent" shape and needs a bunch of little things with only one or two big things. The minor things are lower cowl replacement, the passenger rear window regulator (potential for new ECU bc there was one on the front passenger side floor which could have been ruined with the window being down thats a potential major issue), timing chain guides (major job) also I couldn't tell the interior condition as there was a lot of stuff in the interior. If anyone wants some more information on the car here is a list of the rare options on the car. The thing that really kills the value of the car is the fact it hasn't been daily driven in over a year (with a window cracked open) and the fact it is an auto. If manual 10k might be reasonable with low milage

Yeah, it is. He kept saying "rare" and "vintage" and I was like, bruh. No. It's been sitting for forever. No service records. Leaking window. Tires definitely will need to be replaced. He couldn't answer the question about timing chain guides, suspension things or anything else. Then he proceeds to tell me that it's his dream car and he know what he has. Alrighty. Good luck with that.
