Speedperks cheesin'
#1
I don't know about y'all, but I have literally hundreds of dollars in expired speedperk bucks. I was sitting on about 10 $5 and $10 coupons and was thinking about how to use them before they expired. Usually in the store, you've got a bunch of items and the guy at the counter is absolutely not interested in helping you use your speedperks effectively. You're scrambling to find the email with the code and you aren't even sure which ones you've used. I even had a guy lie one time and try to convince me that my speedperks were automatically deducted when buying things.

Their website allows you to pick up at the store, and apparently you can use a $5 coupon for items that cost $5. This, combined with the perpetual 20% off coupon code on their website means if you're willing to spend the time doing a bunch of separate online orders, you can end up with essentially a bunch of free stuff, as long as you can find things that cost something in a $5 increment. Luckily, CRC Brakleen is almost exactly $5 with the discount.

I ordered so many of these that the store called me to double check it wasn't all a mistake, but they were actually pretty happy when I explained I did it to not waste their time in store.

ha! we abuse the crap out of our speed perks, but our local store "helps" out... though apparently their system isnt always reliable (and on a semi related note, keep warranty stuff in your glove box because they cant look stuff up unless you purchased at their store).

we buy brake clean by the case, blue towels when they go on sale (rural king actually has the best price on these if you dont go to costco)... our perks are usually used on those types of supplies and/or jeep filters (the hondas all get honda filters and the tundra gets a TRD filter... we run amsoil in all our vehicles).

The SpeedPerks system is just as dumb as I would expect. And the fact that I have stood in a store at least twice now to put my order in online from my phone so I could "pick it up" from the guy who is already staring at me with part in hand, for less than he is allowed to sell it to me, is one of many reasons I no longer work there nor was I ever interested in owning AAP stock. Reason #2 would be that they acquired Worldpac years ago, the fantastic place where I used to order order BMW parts every day when working for Bimmerworld 100 years ago, but I still cannot get most basic euro auto parts in an AAP. Oh man, I use their system to my advantage all the time. On a related note, the 20% off is great, but if you put something in your cart and wait a day, usually they'll email a code for 25% off.

This is exactly how I make a little extra on side work if I'm buying parts locally.
