FS/Feeler - 2003 Xterra 4x4

MM Price - $3200

after 12 years of ownership, its time.

we'll be moving onto something a bit newer and bigger for long distance adventures.  great condition for its age, and the 4x4 models are getting tougher to find.  i've had a long ownership to go through this thing with a comb so i can tell you pretty much anything you need to know about it.  would make a great winter bomber / camping rig or just something to keep around for odd jobs.  its old school...drives like a truck because it is one.  slow, simple and honest.

southern car with NO CORROSION, 2nd adult owners, title in hand.  sees mostly highway miles.  sat parked most of the time when we lived in ATL/Raleigh since Jen took public trans so it didn't see major city traffic.

super reliable.  needs a few things (noted below) from normal wear and tear but otherwise just goes and goes, anytime and almost anywhere.  wife commutes in it everyday and we use it for most of our major vacation and holiday trips.  garaged since 2012, nothing but quality synthetic fluids, never abused.  up to date on recalls.  AC blows icy and the heat will melt your face.  4WD and locking hubs engages and disengages without an issue.  starts up with a flick of the key.

Paint is a 5/10 in my critical opinion.  just an old clearcoat and lots of rock dings.  all the weatherstripping is still good.  regularly washed/waxed because i find turd polishing a relaxing passtime.  it took a light hit in the driver's front quarter 2 yrs ago, got a new painted front quarter panel, bumper, grill and headlight bezel.  totally straight, decent paintwork.

comes with 2 key fobs, a hitch ball, BNIB 555 Idler Arm, BNIB MOOG zerk-fitted driver's side lower ball joint, BNIB MOOG Drag Link, and a binder full of receipts and full Excel spreadsheet showing all maintenance records.

• new front rotors and front bearing repack (w/mobil1 synth grease)
• Amsoil sythetics in t-case and rear diff
• Continental Poly-V drive belts (all 3) with new Gates and AC Delco pulleys
• NGK Plug Wire Set (blue!)
• PCV valve and hose
• tire rotation
• throttle body cleaning

Problems
• ding in the rear bumper center section from a parking lot boop
• some weird water stains in the back seat fabric
• windshield has a small crack in lower driver's side
• headliner's got a few saggy patches.  i re-upholstered it in 2013, went too light on the glue apparently.
• 6-disc CD player's acting sassy.  won't load.  nobody listens to CD's anymore so we just let it go.
• slight hesitation/idle bounce for the first minute or two warming up.  doesn't always happen, figure its likely a dirty MAF or maybe time for a distributor cap.
• doesn't like 87, prefers 89.  can get pingy in real hot weather on the cheap stuff if you push it.  we just run it on 89 all the time and its smooth going.  tried retarding the distributor a bit but didn't seem to do much.
• HVAC recirc button doesn't seem to do much anymore
• drives straight but tramlines a bit on the highway, could use an alignment.  i've been putting that off until i fixed the steering links but that's not a very pressing job.  not a big deal but thought i'd mention it.

some minor surface rust on the exhaust and stuff

, no body rust, mostly just clay dust.

headliner droop, been this way for like 5 years.  it doesn't blow around or anything, if you could make a slice and spray some adhesive up behind it, it would probably fix it.
