John Deere fellas in the know, know that there is a difference between a real John Deere and a Lowe's edition. Just about any mower you see older than 10 years is the former. The rest are in a landfill somewhere.

My ex step dad ran a landscaping business and we had all John Deere mowers bought from a John Deere Dealer. They has thousands of hours on them over multiple decades.
