Project curvettttte
#1
Getting back into the forum, so I guess I’ll start a thread for my baby. My 2010 corvette grand sport. So to start the story off I originally had sold the Elise and was looking for a C6 zr1 when I stumbled upon my now vette. It was right around the price of the zr1 I was looking at and after taking such a massive loss on the Camaro when I sold it the idea of buying one well sorted with most the money already spent really got me going. After having it checked out I bought it. So for the car itself, tr6060, triple disk clutch, forged bottom end 416 stroker, paxton 2200r, pfadt coilovers, weld racing wheels with Mickey Thompson’s for the strip, forgestars with r888’s for twisties, and everything to support those things. Since I’ve bought it I’ve cleaned runs up, had a safer retune (859whp), quieter dual mode exhaust, and just cleaned it up. Also added an ethanol content sensor but I’ll jeed some bigger injectors before that.

Current plans other than the fuel to support e85, are some minor cosmetic things like an extended zr1 spoiler and maybeeee some zr1 side skirts but other than that I’m happy for now. Especially since I should make somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000-1100whp on E.

Dang man that is a beast. Having built and sold a higher end build and lost some change in the process, I think it's a smart move as long as you know it's well sorted. I can't imagine driving that thing though, definitely don't take it out when it's raining Tongue

Rain is a definite no no, shockingly it doesn't drive terribly, there's a little cam shake but for the most part 100x more comfy than my old elise. When you get in it it squats well, cold tires suck but when its all warmed up it hooks well. In love with it but since it's already well sorted I'm over here looking for things to do.

i love seeing this thing back on the MM forum. i recall you getting it and then not hearing much for a long time. such a sinister looking car. i can't fathom what 1100hp at the f'ing wheels is like. i drove a neighbor's stock C5 Z06 and that step up took some getting used to, and i loved it but i got out thinking "i could NEVER behave with something like this." like taking a 150lb pit bull on a walk in a park full of squirrels, constantly trying to keep something from happening. you're a better man than i for having that kind of willpower.

with the coilovers, is there really any involved prep to set it up for the strip or do the drag radials basically have that covered well enough you can just bolt them on with no changes and go?
