I don't think we have a thread on these things yet. Anyway, I'm just looking for general code reading/resetting functionality. I see them on Amazon from like $10 to a couple hundy, at which point I'd just get the BMW-specific Peake tool. I know a good few of you have used them - are all these things the same?

In my experience yes. I've gone through a couple of the $18 ebay/amazon variety because I keep losing them and they do all of the basic stuff I've needed when paired with the Torque app.
Now: 07 Porsche Cayman S | 18 VW Tiguan

Then: 18 VW GTI Autobahn | 95 BMW M3 | 15 VW GTI SE | 12 Kia Optima SX | 2009 VW GTI | 00 BMW 540i Sport | 90 Mazda Miata | 94 Yamaha FZR600R | 1993 Suzuki GS500E | 2003 BMW 325i | 95 Saab 900S

This one has been plugged into the Prius since april. Run Torque to turn off the CEL when I feel like being angry.

mine is like this, don't think it is this brand, but it is 1 of the 1billion rebranded units from the same Chinese manufacturer.

Hasn't had an issue reading a code on anything I have plugged it into.
