Harrisonburg has a speed/fab shop finally

...And apparently it's been there for a year. Not sure how I missed it.

JL Fabrication
1187 N. Liberty St. 540-434-4193 or 540-271-2870

It seems they focus mostly on drag. They just finished a really sweet 2007 Mustang, complete tube frame they fabricated. Fiberglass body. Also in the shop is a early 90's Vette that does both road and drag racing. They have three street rods for which they are building frames. Said he does sheet metal work. He seems to do a lot of headers and custom suspension work too.

Just down from them, about 100', is a semi-speed shop. More for the V8 carb crowd. The most important thing I saw in there was a bunch of Aeroquiqe fittings and hose.

Really clean shop. I just saw it and stopped by, and he stopped what he was doing and showed me around for about 5 minutes and just talked cars. Pretty cool.

Just an APB FYI.

.

That was my Vette in there. They are doing hand built headers, full exhaust, modifying my valve cover to fit the wiper motor and building a bracket for my vacuum pump.

The fabricator is Rob and his welds are awesome. They charge half what AR Fab does. His first job for me was to seriously modify my existing headers (for standard 23 degree chevy heads) to work with my 18 degree heads. No small feat, several shops turned it down.

Here are some pics of the work he has done so far...

The speed shop built my 434. Theya re actually known for their work on Thunderbird Turbo Coupes and he think he holds a couple 1/4 mile records with them. Thye cut open the manifolds port them and weld'em back. They modified my carb manifold for EFI...

I saw the Mustang as he was building it...bad ass. Built pretty much from scratch.

The fab shop used to be E&E Auto Sales and Service owned by John Estep and they specialized in BMW.

Go to engine programs on the left and you will see the link for stage 2 3.8L SC for a good 430+hp

The shop pics are old...he has a brand new shop now.
