Resume Writing --- HELP ME

I know this subject has come up a few times here and I know most of you are fairly familiar with them, so please help me out. Since Im not getting my motor to do my swap over spring break I am going to attempt to get my resume done so I can start sending it out.

My situtation- I am graduating in May with absolutely no idea what I am going to do. I will have a BS - studio art and will gradute with honors. Besides that I dont really know what else I should put. I have never been involved in any clubs or organizations. I got an art degree simply because it was the easiest thing for me to do. I really have no plans on using my art degree in any job, nor do I really want to. To me the degree is simply to open doors. I am a hard worker and I believe that the best experience is learned in the job first hand. I see myself starting somewhere at the bottom and proving myself and working my way up.

My past jobs have all been car related- sales associate - service writer - detailer, but this is all before college (I worked full time for 3 years before I went to school) While at school I have only worked odd jobs on winter and summer breaks, really nothing of much importance. However i would have very good recomendations from my past employees.

So where should I go with this? Do you all have any websites that are good with helping writing an resume?

yeah art majors! minimal effort wins the day :lol:

what kind of job are you looking for? that can affect your resume focus. i went through a hell of a time after college finding work, even in big cities, with my art degree because i was looking for very specific work. you may have alot more options.

don't discount the importance of your previous jobs, no matter how insignificant. experience in anything is experience of some kind or another and it will add up.

not the best example as it seems a little more biased to those who can bank off of job experience but its a solid bit of info

I probably see myself somewhere in the auto buss. service writer- customer service - possibly even start my own buss. I have a couple of freinds pulling 100k plus a year service writing. its semi appealing. Also I may head down to TX to work in my uncles shop where my GTI was painted, be a service writer type person there. I really cant see myself being at a desk or a computer all day.. Actually, that will never happen

if it's a customer service thing it sounds like you have something to work off of there with past experience.

what's a service writer do? i googled it but just got links to job openings.

its basically when you take your car to a dealership - bodyshop or something like that, its the guy you go and talk to. He is the one who greets you. takes your keys, and calls you to say when the car is done or what it needs. They are basically salesmen that deal directly with the customer. They get a percentage of the sale overall

And it's their job to persuade you need brakes, brake fluid, new shocks, new tires, new spark plugs, plug wires, muffler bearings, blinker fluid, and dickwarmer fuses.
