I loved the exhaust note on my old WRX. I miss not having the brains bored out of my head at 1/4 throttle.

Does anyone remember when that XJ220 was racing in the big bore class at summit? That thing sounded mean, and it shot fireballs out of the back pretty much everytime it shifted.

Besides that I'm a sucker for straight sixes, maybe I'm a little biased.

Our neighbor has a Maseratti Quattroporte and it sounds amazing. BMW's inline six always sound great especially this one particular track beast. Blue/Green/White I believe that I last saw at VIR 2/05 event. He was the only one remotely close to the Porsche Cup car that lapped the entire field several times over in the Enduro.

Worst exhaust sounds are rice rockets with fartcans and pancake motors. That blat blat blat drives me crazy.

I love the raw sound of a 3.6 Rear Mounted H6...in the 911. It's so rough and just sings when you push it.

I concur with the Panoz, but I think the star of the show exhaust wise was the Saleen S7 GT1/2 car. Mmm...very nice. Other than that, my friend Charlie had a 69 camaro with flowmasters that would scare the little kids in his neighborhood away, and with the way chevy times those, it just sounds so gruff, and low, and phew...very nice.

I dont get the big deal about the R32? Ive heard them on track a few times, and they sound good, but nothing special.
