Dominion Raceway Trackcross 2018

Finish line was at the start of the esses. The start is a left hander with a crest that you can't see over (think of VIR esses, but a lot smaller and no vision upward). Basically you crest then have an immediate right ess. The car is already unloading due to cresting the small hill and would get really unsettled even more if you lifted a lot. Sets you up for an easy spin especially at the higher speeds if you don't keep in it. When I'm doing 80 in a Miata a lot of other cars were probably doing 90+. I noticed my first run at a slower pace when I lifted I felt the car get really light in the rear so I kept in it until after the right hander ess for the rest of my runs.

Edit now that I look at it. The esses technically start with the small right hander right after turn 8 which I don't really count as you don't really have to worry about it. Basically the finish was between 9 and 10 on the blind crest even with the yellow flag

This was an interesting event for me. I really don't have a read on anything. I kinda had fun. But was mostly frustrated. At summit it was able to do well enough since the speeds were slower and the brakes and tires could keep up but this time around, with the higher speed, everything was struggling. The back end of the car was super wiggly under hard braking, the tires just weren't having it on the faster turns and just overall falling on it's face. Somewhere in the frustration I ended up losing time too. Mostly because I was playing with the line as I was watching other people and Taylor and I theorized over the best angle to take. The morning we only got 2 timed runs which was dumb and waste of damn time, I'd have preferred to skip lunch but whatever, I made .5s second improvement between the two runs. In the afternoon I decided to switch up two lines and I ran a 74 and didn't feel good about it. Then I did a 76 and was not happy. So i went back to the lines I took in the morning, which were a little wider in some places, basically whatever to keep the revs up in the Fit for longer and got it down to 72.6 and then the last run 72.1.

If I'm gonna keep doing these I might need to decide on a more performance oriented car + tires + brakes. Then again, this was $100 for 6 runs (not such a great deal, imo), might need to start working at the track again. I definitely want to be driving...

Will we ever see the times posted for this? It has been a while. The Zcar had already gone off in a previous lap. People were getting a little zealous by the end of the day.
Since it might be a while, I finished with a sad 63.438. Car was good but my winter rust was showing.

Did he ever mention if there was photographer? There's nothing I live for more than seeing the fit at full lean.

$80!? Are these photos potentially compromising toward a future political campaign?

Finally got some word back. No results will be posted, it was declared a test and tune after many issues.

That's not that works. You can't just declare something after the fact because the equipment sucks. That's dumb.

I think that is a nice way of saying "We screwed up and were not able to produce results"

Most likely Timing and Scoring failed. Much like what Polecat said.

Yeah, I understand that. My point is they should just own up to their equipment failing. Maybe I'm reading into it too much or taking it the wrong way.
