Amazing to see how far safety in motorsport has come. That might have been fatal even 10 years ago. Reminds me of the time we were at the Canadian GP and Robert Kubica had that big crash that sidelined his career. He was lucky to survive too, due to the advances in engineering.

those cars are built with the driver sitting in a "safety pod" AND everything else bolting up. this helps with safety and speedy repairs. backed into a wall? no problem, drive it in here and we will bolt on a whole new rear end.

it is a new chassis. normally thats not allowed except when the original is completely destroyed.
Well there has already been 4 accidents in qualifying. One red flag for 45 minutes. Should make for an interesting race saturday/sunday!

^^^^ First time I saw a prototype was at an ALMS race at Lime Rock when I was 14? 15? and I'll never forget seeing how small one was- TV makes them look pretty large.
Started watchig the live feed at 8 this am, coverage is pretty good on FS1! Diggin the amount of in-car footage.
