WTB: Interim Car
#1
just got back from vacation and a guy called about buying the audi wanted to come down from PA today and get it.
long story short, i'm now in need of a car pretty quickly or it's going to be a long walk to work on monday.

looking for an old beater or something that's 1/2 way decent that i can resell when i find another car. If you know of something like that, let me know.

thx!

Maybe have the wife drop you off and rent a car over your lunch break? doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me to go thru the hassle of buying something you're going to have to get rid of soon

true, but it took me 7 months to find the right fozzy, and 4 months for the van. that's going to cost me a lot in rental fees. =)

That 1500 looks really nice, the idea of a temporary classic is kind of cool, but I think would get really old really fast when you tried to pilot it in traffic.

I'll sell the Camry for 1200 the way it sits or 1500 with a new water pump. The car still drives fine and doesn't overheat but it drains the reservoir tank every 500 miles or so.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

lol I have the convertible. Runs and drives perfect. $5k for MMers for a 133k M3. It definitely isnt cosmetically perfectly (and if it was I wouldnt be selling for $5k). Heated seats, automatic, reliable...

My ad on bimmerforums. We can work out an MM price. Again, it is a beater, not a $12k mint E36 m3.

For sale is a 1999 M3 Convertible in Silver on Cinnamon. It is automatic, and has ~133k miles. I have 4 vehicles, and want to get down to 2 so this has to go.

Everything works, 90% brake pads/rotors front and rear, 90% tread on tires on contours. The vehicle did have a TCU go out about 6k miles ago, but it was fixed and runs perfectly. Engine/Trans runs strong and healthy. Suspension is stock with no clunks/noises. Comes with the 3-spoke wheel steering wheel! I do have a dog, but she is hypoallergenic and was always put on a protective blanket.

Recent Maintenance:
Water Pump
Thermostat
Tires
Pads/Rotors
Oil Change

Issues it does have:
Sagging glovebox, yup welcome to e36s
Front "bump" in the grill area
In a small spot in the rear quarter there is paint cracked and rust. I can have this fixed for you for $250. I have priced the vehicle accordingly. RUST is there in a 2x3 spot. The car is not an excellent condition interior. However, the engine/trans is!

Located in Reston, VA. You are more than welcome to check out the vehicle anytime.

I enjoyed this vehicle thoroughly and know the next owner will do the same.

No rips or tears in the top itself. The plastic window has 2, less than half an inch tears where the plastic folds.

Paul Galleron was with me last time it rained hard on it. Leaks less than a miata top  I get a drip or two if its raining incredibly hard, and the 2 tears in the rear plastic I think let water eventually into the trunk if its raining a long time as I find the rear carpet trim is a little moist if left outside overnight while its raining. It is normally stored in the garage.

It actually goes up on ebay in a couple days, as even though I have gotten a ton of interst, people flake like crazy. Have had at least 3 appointments setup and the people dont actually show :finger:

Neither, something happened to the leather there that it bubbled up. Its not ripped.

ended up buying the K1500, little grandpa-ish but should be good for a while, and handy as hell to keep around when i find something else.

Seriously, I will always have a pickup now unless I jump into an apt or condo. Just too convenient.
