SCCA MARRS 8 Sept. 27-28 Summit Main - Ole - 09-04-2008 I will be there one of my part-time teamates. I may also race ITA with a new hot rod ITA car. Lookout AJ! - .RJ - 09-04-2008 I'll be there taking pictures... If I am on someone's crew can I get into the paddock? Or will they turn me away for being on a motorcycle. - Ole - 09-04-2008 You need a paddock parking pass to get in the paddock. - .RJ - 09-04-2008 Is that a summit point thing or an SCCA thing? I'd like to make a phone call/send an email and ask why the hell they do this. - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-04-2008 whats marrs? - .RJ - 09-04-2008 http://www.wdcr-scca.org/ClubRacing/MARRS/ - CaptainHenreh - 09-04-2008 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:whats marrs? Mid Atlantic Road Racing Series? I think.
- Ole - 09-04-2008 Its an SCCA thing. Parking is a nightmare that is why they do it and I appreciate them doing it. - Evan - 09-04-2008 .RJ Wrote:Is that a summit point thing or an SCCA thing? What a cluster. Ole, do you have an email address for the DC region RE? - Ole - 09-04-2008 www.wdcr-scca.org I'm sure its up there. I know and like these people so don't use my name. Each organization has its advantges. Some like one over the other, I prefer both. - .RJ - 09-04-2008 My beef doesnt have anything to do with anyone in particular - I dont need to use any names. Short story: I was on the shenandoah track this weekend for a bike track event and rolled over towards the main track in my power ranger suit and space boots, on my motorbike, to go to OG Racing - the nice older gentleman sitting on the other side of the bridge informed me that I could not go in the paddock and really didnt seem to care where I wanted to go and why. I was told later by someone else that I can park in the gravel/mud, with my motorbike, and walk into the paddock. With my leathers/boots on and about 85 degrees I really didnt have any interest in walking across the paddock to get supplies at OG and lunch at Chez Summit. SCCA weekends are the only time I have to deal with this crap. NASA, EMRA, DE events, etc - no one cares, c'mon in. "Secret Car Club of America" indeed - we dont want you here. - Evan - 09-04-2008 hyperfest requires paddock passes as well, due to the volume. it does make sense. otherwise you would have friends cars, family cars etc. clogging up an already congested paddock and some racers dont have room to park. it does seem like there should be exceptions for OG racing though. ive been denied when i need brake fluid or something and its really annoying. the labor day double is also traditionally the highest attended race of the year. maybe on a regular weekend they would cut you some slack maybe you should blame those rich fucks who take up so much space with toterhomes and 18 wheel rigs for 1 car

But a motorcycle? That takes up zero room parked? Srsly? And I wasnt even staying in the paddock. - Ole - 09-04-2008 Evan Wrote:hence the wink, richguy!Far from rich. Find me a bike. - Evan - 09-04-2008 Ill find you a bike if your neice knocks on my door and introduces herself. - Ole - 09-04-2008 Deal - Ole - 09-08-2008 I will not be racing in ITA. I am doing a few test laps in an ITA car though. I'll bet a BF that I beat the current track record. Where's that AJ? |
