Engine/Car Codes - Mike - 12-19-2006 Spawned from the e30 discussion, I'm going to put together a list of engine and chassis codes. Post up what you know and I'll add it to this first post to make it pretty. My Honda codes aren't exact (there are some 92-95 EJ Civics, etc), but if you're talking to an enthusiast, this would work. I look for it all the time and searching is annoying :-). - WRXtranceformed - 03-28-2008 Man I'd add all of the Subaru engine codes but I'm way too lazy to look em all up :lol: - Roxtar - 09-03-2008 how to read a toyota code: first number - generation in series letters before the dash - series after the dash: e - electronic fuel injected f - economy valve train g - performance valve train s - direct injection t - turbocharged z - supercharged so the 7M-GTE is the 7th engine in the M series, and is equipped with a wide angle, performance valve train, a turbocharger, and electronic fuel injection. the 1ZZ-FE is the first of the ZZ series and is equipped with a narrow angle, economy valve train, and electronic fuel injection. - balactm - 09-03-2008 the 4age also used in the 1st gen mr2. also, the mr2 chassis codes are as follows: Mk1 - AW-11, MK2 - SW20, MK3 - ZZW30 with a 1ZZ-FE engine code. also, there was a 3S-GE in the late jdm Rav 4's. |
