That's a good point. Had he stepped down say 2 or 3 months ago el presidente could say he's making some changes and adjustments and it would've taken a lot of the heat off. With the races as close as they are that could've made a difference.

Something tells me it wasnt exactly stepping down because it's what he really wanted to do. I think after how the election turned out yesterday Bush might have actually realized that not a lot of people ar ehappy with the job Rumsfeld is doing, it's also some what of a sign that he might work with a democratic congress rather than fight it for the next two years.

The senate and house going to the dems may actually help the repubs keep the prez. I still think its going to democrat though.
I think next term would be good to have a moderate democrat in office and I would probably vote that direction. The problem is that the democrats dont really know what "moderate" means. Ex: Leiberman.
