Well, I finally bought a new set of tires, for the racecar - I dont remember the last time I bought new tires, so it could have been last week but it was more likely about 5 years ago.

Tires ordered at 10am, they were heat cycled and shipped out by 5pm, and I'll probably have them in 2 days. These guys really kick ass

- Sijray21 - 03-23-2006

i've always loved dealing with them and their advice is good.

another thumbup for tirerack.

Probably 4 sets of tires and 2 sets of wheel/tire combo's here

- Evan - 03-23-2006

if they carried more brands of tires, they would possibly be the perfect tire retailer.
but since they dont, i rarely buy anything from them.
got a set of wheels a couple months ago but thats it

- .RJ - 03-23-2006

would be nice if they had toyo and falken....

- white_2kgt - 03-23-2006

So I guess HC isn't using a spec toyo tire?

- .RJ - 03-23-2006

*grumble* spec tire *grumble*

After a lot of whining it was delayed until '07 for ECHC

i love me some Tirerack. I think I've spent a bit over 2 grand there in the past year. SE-R wheels and tires, tires for the supra, tires for the 240. I wonder if we could get a discount system for MM members?

We've talked about setting up an affliate link. It wouldn't discount the prices, but MM would get a cut of everything.

- John - 03-23-2006

Tirerack does me zero good since I still have to get my tires mounted and every place around here will match their prices. Confusedhrug:

- Feersty - 03-23-2006

$130.00 to mount tires was not fun....Sad There is a link for cheap tires in for sale I got 4 falken azenis st115 for 314$ or something.

We gave you other options at 1/3 the price - dont complain because you didnt follow up on them.

He could've driven down here, had his tires mounted, eaten lunch, and driven back to NoVA for half that.

- Andy - 03-24-2006

Where'd you go, Feersty? Tiresplus is a pretty big chain and they do mount/balance for 18 bucks. Who the hell mounts/balance for 30+ a tire?

- JustinG - 03-24-2006

i hope he got a BJ and a lap dance for that price Confusedhock:

Believe it or not, a lot of places charge exorbinant fees for "oversized" wheels...

It's not like Feersty had some dubs for his Escalade. When I had 17's, I shopped around. Most big ass chains like NTB don't charge for 17's, why would you go out of your way to find a place that does.

- Sijray21 - 03-24-2006

i think he probably paid more b/c they have issues with low-profile tires. i think they're 17" tires with an aspect ratio of 45 or 40. I know some places won't even do some dimensions. I agree that they shouldn't cost more than $18/wheel

- white_2kgt - 03-24-2006

When I goto VIR I stop at a tire shop in Altavista, I pull out my race tires, get new ones mounted AND balanced and the old ones flipped, takes about 20 minutes and I give the guy $5. $130 is just Feersty.
