Mufucka you just emailed Kaan the link. You do it. I don't even know where the link is.

Email came from you, bitch.

edit: ok fine,

Kevin 'FlimFlam' Adolf Wrote:Crappy iphone pics taken two seconds ago from outside my shop are attached.

Lemme see what I can remember of this thing...in absolutely no real order of importance...

- 1992 240sx hatch
- Plenty of miles on the chassis, has been a track only car since 2006 or so.
- Engine is a s14 dual cam KA that makes a pretty healthy 150whp. I think it has cams...maybe...or just idles rough. But thats strong KA numbers I believe from what I've previously seen on my dyno.
- I bought it from my buddy James Packer, owned it for a few years, then sold it to my best friend Russ who then moved to Oklahoma and took the car with him, then through another random turn of events my other best friend Michael drove halfway to Oklahoma to buy it from Russ and brought it back to Va. A year later Michael gets a job in San Francisco so we loaded it up behind a Budget truck and took it out to California. A year into attempting to drive a modified/track car on the streets of San Francisco he decided to ship it back to me over here in Va to keep for him. Eventually his life changed and he didn't want to have the car in his life, so he's asked me to sell it for him. I've tried on and off for over a year and always have friends who say they want it, so I've never advertised it...kinda like how i'm doing now. But everyone has flaked. Getting tired of being jerked around and I keep forgetting I need to get it sold for my buddy...so trying once again. This time I WILL sell it.
- When I bought it several years ago I paid $4,000 and it had less spare parts then it has currently. The reason I'm asking less is because A) Michael just wants it gone, B) I just want to stop having to deal with it, C) it currently does not start. The battery is dead and when you jump it the starter just clicks. You can push start it and the car runs and runs well, but I don't have the time to deal with fixing it nor want to invest any more money into someone elses car just to sell it and not make any money off of the whole ordeal.
- I replaced the transmission during my ownership because the stock s13 trans was really grindy going into 3rd. I swapped in a S15 transmission that came on a friend's engine swap drivetrain swap. Trans shifts great. Inspected clutch at that time, it was fine. Still holds that massive 150whp great without slipping or any issues.
- This was an AMAZINGLY reliable track car. It never broke on me once. It never broke on the previous owner. And it never broke on Russ or Michael. Its an absolute blast to drive at the limit. It's rather lightweight and I normally ran 255 Rcomps and jesus christ it had grip for days. Going through the uphill esses flatfooted all the way from the turn in point at Turn 5 is lots of fun.
- It does have a LSD, couldn't really tell you of the health of this. I believe its perfectly fine as it was working fine when I tracked it once in Oklahoma while Russ owned it.
- Seats are Momo (cant remember model) fixed back seats. Rather light, fairly comfy. The seat brackets I believe are fixed in place, so if you're really short it may be hard to get comfy, but Russ/Michael were both around 6ft and it fit them great.
- 5pt camlock harnesses. Absolutely no idea of their date/age. Probably fine for HPDE, but I'd double check all that.
- S14 dash and door panels - Michael decided to do that randomly before he moved to California. Looks decent.
- All other interior is stripped and been painted
- 4pt rollbar w/ welded strut tower brace - painted baby blue.
- Currently sitting on a set of replica Mustang Cobra R 17x9" wheels with 255/40/17 Falken Azenis RT615's - the old ones. Probably flatspotted all to hell from sitting in the same spot for 2years.
- Z32 brakes front and rear - I believe it currently has street pads. I think...possibly may still be Carbotech race pads. Rotors are super rusty from sitting, but should be perfectly fine.
- battery is relocated to the trunk

Cant really think of anything else really important about it. If you have any specific questions I'll do my best to answer them. The title is in my buddy's name, but still a Va title, but I have it here at work signed and ready to be given to the next owner. All I need is someone to bring a trailer and $2,200 cash and they have themselves an excellent, cheap, track car.

Thanks,

-Kevin

AKA, fantastic, stupid deal. Someone should buy it right now.

so wait...a running, reliable, simple, RWD track car for that price and the only thing wrong with it is a borked battery?

is this real life?

The starter is borked not the battery but yeah you got the gist.

So... for fix-the-Miata cost I can get a prebuilt track car?

Dammit.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - ScottyB - 03-15-2013

No, I'm paying $700. But with all the other parts the car needs (timing belt/water pump, tires, tie rods, alignment, clutch kit, so on) you can definitely see how it adds up. And I'm not exactly swimming in doll hairs.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Evan - 03-17-2013

yeah, but since
Quote:has been a track only car since 2006 or so
, you would have to count on setting aside quite a few doll hairs for that car too.

6 or 7 years of track rape can really wear stuff out that you dont think about.
real tempting though

I've always had a weird thing for the slantnose 911s, even though they are kinda funky looking.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - ScottyB - 03-24-2013

i don't think the slantnose would work on any generation 911 except that one, which is does very well for reasons i don't understand. great color + wheels on that thing too.

That is definitely a cool car but seems kind of overpriced for all the flaws. The guy mentioning that he speeds through intersection turns at 50mph certainly doesn't help its case

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Mike - 03-25-2013

and the fact that it's an aftermarket body kit...

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - SlimKlim - 03-25-2013

I don't even want to know what a factory slantnose 930 would cost these days. People paid out the ass to get them new, because a brand new 911 turbo wasn't cool enough I guess.

Quick ebay motors search... Anywhere from $20,000-$70,000

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Goodspeed - 03-31-2013

Pretty nice NA Miata for sale in Aldie (about 15 mins. down the road from me) here in VA. I kinda love Mariner blue on the NA's.

Quote:1992 Miata
137,xxx miles
Decently clean, all HLAs replaced 3k miles ago, new valve cover gasket, new CAS O-ring, new front main crank seal.

Compression numbers were really good last time I tested

1- 190
2- 190
3- 185
4- 181

That was back in July.

5 Speed Trans
No AC/Cruise
Moss Motors Low Profile Head Light (New style with HELLA projectors for lows.)
1.8l Brake upgrade with Hawk HPS Pads
Hard Dog Double Diag. roll bar
Vinyl top with glass window
Tokico Blues with Tokico springs
16x7" ASA

The bad:

Its 21 years old its not perfect.

Can be a little grumpy on cold starts. Usually fine, but some times it gives issues starting, will always start and is fine once warm

Some damage on the driver side door/fender from where someone rubbed it with their car when it was parked on the street.

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

$2650 - Price is OBO
