Whats the point of the hood/grill scoop thing? I'm all for functionality, but that doesn't really strike me as purposeful and just makes it look funny.

Agreed, i know on evos when that grill vent/scoop the person usually has some sort of ducting routed to the airbox/intake, maybe it helps create more boosts?

- WRXtranceformed - 06-20-2008

Um I could definitely be wrong because it's been a while since I've looked under the hood of a stock Suby, but if I remember right the stock air intake has a ram air component right there. It routs over to the snorkus inside the passenger side wheel well which then feeds to the airbox. Technically it's not ram air, but it pushes cold air in from the front of the car. I could definitely be wrong though, it's been a while.

- WRXtranceformed - 06-20-2008

And looking at that one again, it kind of looks like it blows cold air down the backside of the radiator... kind of like a functional cooling shroud.

- ScottyB - 06-20-2008

yeah that definitely looks like it was supposed to work with the stock intake duct, which he removed. oh well, you could always put the duct back i guess.

- Dave - 06-20-2008

that might make a little more sense if he had something to route the fresh air over to the intake (which I guess is now down in the fender).
FYI, blowing air over the backside of a radiator wouldn't really accomplish anything. A properly laid out cooling system will have ducting in front of the radiator to capture air and force it through to extract the heat and prevent it from escaping elsewhere. Any air introduced from the rear would just hit the engine, which is pretty useless in terms of cooling.

i dunno subies, but isn't that pretty overpriced?

i figure he'll be talked down about a grand by the time it sells...with all those mods that's about right. the early cars are definitely getting cheap nowadays.

I think that is overpriced. Since when do after market parts raise the value of a car?

WRXtranceformed is correct. There should be a ram air scoop at the end of the dip in the grill. In the stock setup the ram air scoop thing is blocked by the rubber trim under the hood. I don't know why they even have it there.

Very nice. Those were always kind of weird cars to me until I saw one up close flagging at VIR, then I saw what they are good for. Very cool car, the sound they make is pretty intoxicating.

I got to ride in that very car Goodspeed. It sounds good outside, but inside is sooooo much better.
I had never been in a car that could be going 70 down the back straight and spin the wheels if you went more that 50% throttle. I want one oh so badly...

Beautiful single turbo Supra, and that's my color! Too bad there's no way in shit I would spend $38,000 on a 15 year old car with 72,000 miles on it. Even it it ran an a 150 shot of Vin Diesel's man juice. For that kind of coin I'm looking at lightly used C6's.

Nor would I pay 17.5k for this one, but 400+whp RX-7 anyone?
