I want Toyota and Nissan to both come out with TT sports cars again. I like the new Z's but I want a TT version! Whats Toyota's sportiest car they have out now anyway?

Nissan has a TT sports car

Well the GTR is but that's "super car" I mean more like a TT Z or similar that is more affordable than almost 90k.

You do know that the '96 Turbo Z sold for close to 50k back then....with inflation factored in that's roughly 70k today.

Shit, I edited Goodspeed's post instead of quoting him. Oops. Sorry buddy. Re-post that other Toyota image you had because I don't know where it went.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - caa337 - 05-28-2011

The 1995 TT z was 42k, I dunno it would just be cool if they could do it.

I had no idea a TT Z cost that much new... wow lol

Yea, this is what I was going to say, the Z was by no means a cheap car back when it was sold in the 90's and with inflation it would be almost equal to a the GT-R.

The national avg. a GT-R sells for is actually $60,000 according to one site but they might be factoring in used purchases which still isn't bad for a "super car"

Plus Nissan took that $50,000 z32 that had 300hp into the z33 with 287hp, only 13 less and the z34 with 332hp and got their price back down to the $30's

Assuming you would start buying it in 1994, the inflation price for that comes out over 60k

They are sick cars but that's a steep price for 32hp less and a leaky roof :dunno:
But they did have the mega-ballin 4-wheel steering

Buy a Z and throw a $10k turbo kit on it and you got the best of both worlds and it would cost less than what the Z cost back in the 90's factoring in inflation and what not

I'll probably never own a domestic car in my life. My TTops don't leak! The new GTR's are like 89950 or so but they do 0-60 in 3.0 seconds and increased the horsepower a good amount versus the other years and fixed the tranny issues. But yeah I guess yours right, the Z34 is still a sick car. I would love to own one.

is that a good price for a 17 year old R?

The package is moderately desirable but if I were buying, I'd be replacing 83k mile suspension pieces anyways so :dunno: . Others who know NA's better than I do will probably chime in but I'd guess that would be pretty spot on, if not a tad high.

They could always tune up the titan V8 and put it in the Z, then someone make a TT kit for it Big Grin

The R Package is sort of desirable, but only if it has stock suspension on it. But then you have a "rare" R-Pack with old (age-wise) and perhaps-starting-to-blow-out (miles-wise) Bilsteins. The appearance stuff (front + rear lip spoiler doodads) are hard to come by.

$5800 for a re-painted R-package is kinda meh to me. You got a Torsen LSD in a vast majority of the 94-97's so that's nothing rare, and you can get a Flyin Miata set of coilovers + sway bars for $1k that will perform better than the stock Bilstein stuff considering the age/miles.

Sooo... it's not desirable for collectors, it's not performance-y enough to justify the extra "R-Package premium" -- I'd offer $4800 - $5k and see. To me, it's just another 1.8L low-mileage Miata by now.

*shrug*
I paid less than that 7 years ago for an R package with the same mileage. (i think i paid $5k iirc)

its really not that special.....
Id say, $500 max premium over any other 1.8 w/ LSD

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - ScottyB - 06-02-2011
