M3 guys-

This looks like a pretty good deal to me, but correct me if I'm wrong. If it's a decent deal I think my gf might actually pick it up.

if so, that is a price someone won't refuse

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Goodspeed - 11-30-2010

For all you noobs buying BMW's left and right, try this on for size instead. Rarest year/color/interior produced...I kinda want it.

1992 Supra Turbo, Turquoise Metallic over Shadow Gray leather, 105k miles, 5 speed, 57-trim upgraded stock turbo, upgraded FMIC with hardpipes, new headgasket with ARP studs, turbo-back exhaust, factory LSD/MK4 wheels, Pioneer/Blaupunkt system, R134 converted cold A/C. $5,500 in Charlotte, NC.

It's a shame that car sucks compared to a an E36 to every way other than you can make gobs of power easily.

You mean like a good one, made after 1996?

Seriously though, 2 - 2005 C6's in the 75-85K mile range sold for less than 19K recently.

Not much easier than just removing the whole engine and trans and replacing it with an Ellis Juan

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Goodspeed - 12-08-2010

Not a crazy price - clean auto FD's with good mileage regularly trade in the low teens

From the DC Craigslist:

Quote:1985 Bitter SC - $5000 Last chance before I start work on the car! I've been driving the car a lot more lately and the oil usage seems to have dropped some. It's possible that the (reportedly new) rings are finally seating better? It's been a very reliable driver for me over the last month.

1985 Bitter SC http://fnader.com/Bitter.htm (Website updated with detailed pictures taken 9/29/2010) The Bitter SC was just featured in Hemmings.

Privately designed and produced in small numbers (less than 500 total) 1979-1989 by Erich Bitter using the Opel Senator A chassis as the basis for this grand tourer.

Styling was reportedly based on his own drawings from the 1960's, but "refined for production" by Opel stylists Henry Haga and George Gallion as well as Italian stylist Michelotti with aerodynamic testing by Pininfarina. (Others might say that the styling was a blatant copy of Pininfarina's Ferrari 400/412i!)

Initially body assembly was by OCRA (Turin Italy), but the bodies were inferior and rusted quickly and production was moved to another Turin company: Maggiore (who at the time were producing bodies for Maserati and Bristol).

Interiors were all done in nappa leather by by SALT of Turin.

Final assembly was initially done by Bitter's own staff (one car a week), but later was contracted to Steyr Daimler Puch (Mercedes G-Wagen, etc) in Austria.

Drivetrain was initially a mostly stock Opel 3.0 inline six (180hp and 182 ft-lbs) but later made a Manzel-tuned 3.9 (210hp and 257 ft-lb) available as an option (as featured on this car)

Price in 1985 was $52,000 (Porsche 911 was $32k, 928S $50k, Ferrari 308 $54k)

This car is an almost rust-free car from Los Angeles. The most solid I've seen on the east coast. There is a rust bubble at the drive-side a-pillar base (common due to disimilar metal joining there) and around the inoperative Webasto sunroof. (This is not a factory sunroof car, but the Webasto is the exact type that was used on them. Motor runs, needs need track bits)

The car had a cheap paint job and the horizontal surfaces need stripping and resprayed.

The 3.9 engine is reportedly fresh, but uses an inordinate mount of oil, especially at speed on the highway. Compression tests point to rings.

Has some sort of sweet aftermarket exhaust on it.

TH180 automatic works great and the AC even works. (Cruise control lever is broken).

Has custom power bucket seats up front (professionally matched to the OEM leather) but comes with the original overstuffed Italian chairs as well (bad leather)

Has all 4 original 15" staggered Ronal rims and I just spent over $1000 rebuilding the front end/steering. Fresh hi-amp alternator.

New leather-rimed Nardi wheel (and OEM wheel) and new stereo and speakers.

With nothing else, I'd like $5000 (several thousand less than I have in it)

I also have a huge custom made Websato-type manual sliding cloth sunroof (black with custom grey headliner) I was going to replace the inop glass roof with. that would also fix the headliner (the worst part of the interior). Would need another $800 for that. WILL NOW INCLUDE AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. ALSO INCLUDED AT NO EXTRA CHARGE are a set of 17x8 SSR Integrals and fresh ZRi tires.

Also have used BBS Bugatti chrome 17" rims; add another $300. Or alternatively have new 16" rims (still in boxes, no tires) that could go with it for another $300.

Now if you wanted to stay with the Manzel 3.9 CIH engine, I have most of what is needed to make this a manual trans car. Used getrag 265 and shifter(detachable bellhousing), new CIH Getrag 265 bellhousing, used flywheel, new clutch/pressure plate. You'd need a pedal box, clutch cable, and OEM driveshaft from a manual LHD Senator A (common in Germany). Or you could custom build a pedal box and shorten the OEM shaft.

This is also the desirable gearbox to convert an auto Jag or big bore BMW to a manual trans car. Hence, would need $1000 for all the trans stuff.

Finally, I have an LS1/4sp auto from a 1998 Camaro, reportedly with 52k on it. Complete with all accessories (alt, AC, PS, etc) harness, and computer and I even bought a shifter assembly and a pulley conversion kit (to retain the OEM Bitter R12 AC system with the serptentine belt). Desirable F-body oil pan (might have to swap for the Bitter... unsure) $2500.

Want everything? Will make you a real deal!

Not interested in selling any of the parts to give the potential Bitter buyer the right of first refusal.

Would consider interesting vintage car trades (up or down, but prefer turnkey over a project)
