Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - TorinoCobra070 - 10-13-2010

Somebody needs to buy this. LS1 Miata I found on LS1Tech. Price dropped to $8500 - just needs some cosmetic work

SHIT.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-13-2010

^^ alright deal but definitely not blow away. LS1s themselves are cheap (er) these days, a stock 90s miata in that condition w ould go for 2000-3000. So $5500 for KYBs, a set of okay wheels, and an LS1 transmission, engine, and ECU? Less than that, now that doesnt include motor mounts and labor, but labor is free and motor mounts arent that ridicuously expensive. I think 7 is more a reasonable price.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Goodspeed - 10-13-2010

There is a lot more to it than that, he used a Boss Frog/Monster setup which is one of the "cheaper" options. Have a gander and add it up:

http://www.bossfrog.biz/Miata_V8_Swap.html

About 4 grand for just the parts needed to fit and support 350+hp and torque without exploding, and that is without a race-rad and a custom exhaust.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - TorinoCobra070 - 10-13-2010

I'm with Goodspeed. There is a lot more to it than just tossing in an LS1/T56 combo.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-13-2010

I disagree still. Take all the mods and at least discount by 50% plus no labor. Ant thats a fair price, the again there are people who view it differently which is why I buy and sell stuff and make a killing.

DJ is the guy who sends you a lowball email on Craigslist that you laugh at and delete without responding.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-14-2010

Why yes I am, and it works...surprisingly well. Ive gone through 14-15 sets of wheels and the lowest "profit" I made on each one was $150. Im a douche for lowballing and I resell so I get those lowballers and I refuse them because I can wait or am more educated about the price or a multitude of things. Also, cash is king, a lot of my friends see me get a lot of stuff constantly thats real expensive. I aint rich, but I do know how to buy and sell. I am nice sometimes for friends and MMers tho and thats what kills my profit, makes buying and selling almost not worth it when I sell to you guys. Tongue

PS- Never sell a modded car. I did the whole "its modded please buy it for more than the base car is worth" and realized I priced myself out of the market. I tried selling for 13k for a 82k mile GSX with wayyy to many mods. Now I parted out the car and for the bare engine I got $4.4K, nevertheless the turbo setups, suspension, CF parts, wheels, brakes, exhaust, intake Mani, FMIC, intake, AVC-R, stereo, bucket seast, rails, transmission, ATI crank pulley, mounts, clutch flywheel, etc and the list goes on. I got over $12K just outta parting out the car. Got wheels for free through a trade (he paid me the cost of the wheels plus his wheels and tires), brakes setup cost me $100 bucks, transmission and FULL engine with everything and front bumper/intercooler/ac stuff for $500. Threw back in stock interior and stereo. Now ill sell the car for $5-$8K.

I never would have gotten close to $20 grand out of my eclipse. I would have realistically gotten 10-11k. $8-9K for it to sit in my garage and every now and then touch it? Damn well worth it. Took a year, but really only took 6 days of actually workiong on it.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - WRXtranceformed - 10-14-2010

So you're saying that LS1 Miata seller should ignore people like you and hold out for what it's worth? Or let it sit in his garage for 6 years while he pulls every part off of it and sells each nut and bolt individually? Tongue

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Evan - 10-15-2010

that car sucks.
90 donor should be less than $1k, $500 if you get one with a bad motor (not hard to find)
Id call anyone an idiot who would pay a dime more than $5k for that halfassed POS.

and thats not even taking into consideration the fact that a front heavy stick axle miata is an exercise in retardation
