Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - .RJ - 04-17-2012

I'll come out of shitbox honda retirement to work on the HYPE-ARRRRRRRRRRR

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - Kaan - 04-17-2012

Wrench day reunion.... Busted Honda pile this weekend?

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - Jake - 04-17-2012

I could do Sunday Funday.

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - navin - 04-17-2012

Unfortunately I don't have any real wrenching to do - aside from grinding off the undercoated. And I don't think anyone would want to do that.

Although this might motivate me to get off my ass and make my parts order so I can start to put the suspension back together.

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - Kaan - 04-17-2012

if you need flap wheels, wire wheels, etc... let me know.

Kaan Wrote:if you need a tool i might have just call.

He means this. I'm surprised he doesn't answer with just "What tool?" when he sees me calling him these days. Big Grin

navin Wrote:Unfortunately I don't have any real wrenching to do - aside from grinding off the undercoated. And I don't think anyone would want to do that.

I believe you would be correct in that assumption. 8)

In all seriousness though, I'm happy to help out on a fellow MMer's project when it comes to the big and heavy stuff. Especially one done this well by someone I could stand to learn a thing or two from.

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - navin - 04-17-2012

Kaan - thanks man, I think I'm all set with tools over here. Only one more side to really grind off and finish -- maybe I'll find some motivation this weekend.

I think when I get most of my parts back from getting bushings pressed in, etc I'll send out a message to you guys and we can have a wrench day. I'd love to offer my garage to other people as well, but I'd have to cordinate with my roomate to get his bikes outta the way. The least I can do is fire up the smoker to make some ribz and such, and provide beers of course.

*cough*, I need to the underside of my car where the cage was put in.....

Hiyo kaan, how can I trick you into helping me Wink

Kaan Wrote:uhhh... call me?

yeah Kaan doesn't really have to be tricked, sometimes he'll call you.

I hope we don't move too far from the Reserve, having a backup set of tools and a walking encyclopedia of wrenching genius within walking distance is going to be hard to give up.

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - navin - 04-18-2012

DJ - I have some stuff called "Peel-Away7" that you could take... i used it for the initial undercoat removal, before the grinder. Seemed to make things come off easier.

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - navin - 09-26-2012

Just pictures and stuff. No witty back stories, I'll leave that for Rex.

I still don't understand this project but it all looks really nice.

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - navin - 02-01-2013

I get that a lot Smile

Looks great though, and even better in person! You said you would let me track it when you are done right?

Re: Project 1997 ITR #280 - SlimKlim - 02-01-2013

Yeah I don't fully comprehend it, but iiiiiiii like it. I love it when people put this kind of attention to detail in their builds. One day I'd like to launch this level of overhaul on the E36. Eventually...
