it took ALL of my concentrated self control, i promise you.  i have a hair-trigger sailor mouth under normal circumstances.

Haha! I've had so many moments that I wish I had a cam for and thought I wouldn't be able share it anyway because I would sound like a maniac...

Buying a Nextbase Duo dashcam is one of the best things I bought for my car.

This happened earlier today
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFTtZcnFFSU
Crazy lady had a problem with me driving the speed limit on a busy street in the rain.

Money shot is at the end.
I wish I was recording audio, she was hilarious. She called me a foreigner, among other more incomprehensible things.

RE: Dash cameras: good idea or paranoia - ScottyB - 12-01-2018

LOL. she looked like she hit every branch in the crazy tree right between the eyes on the way to the ground.

and for all that, she was able to arrive at a freaking red light .2 seconds faster so she could just sit there and resent her existence. A+ planning, would observe at a distance for science again

How long were you in the left lane before you started the video?

Not very long,  but even if I was its not the freeway/highway, I seriously hope that you're not implying that I was in the wrong for driving in the left lane.

But also yeah, even off the freeway you shouldn't be sitting in the left lane... Although, the reaction by that lady was very much unnecessary and crazy

RE: Dash cameras: good idea or paranoia - G.Irish - 12-03-2018

Nah, if you're on a regular road in a dense area the left lane rule does not apply. A country 2 lane highway or something like going out route 11, okay. Route 29 in Arlington, no. There are people turning left from that lane all the time, it is not the 'fast' lane.

RE: Dash cameras: good idea or paranoia - rherold9 - 12-03-2018

The law doesn't apply to fine you, no. General driving etiquette I feel should still apply.. It's like people who don't use turn signals or any other crap that always happens out there now-a-days that's not particularly "fine worthy" but is still done but shouldn't be...

Evan was clearly turning left (entered left turn lane at the end of the video). While I generally agree with driving right passing left that idea goes away in an urban instance like the one above, it doesn't apply here. The level of anger (assuming that's why the crazy lady actually felt the need to display her craziness/anger) was very unjustified in this case as she could've easily sped and passed if she wanted to.

Yeah, but you're wrong here. The leftmost lane on highways is for passing. The left lane of the road he was driving on is for driving and turning left. You can't expect someone to move to the right lane on a road like that when they could have a turn coming up at the next intersection.

RE: Dash cameras: good idea or paranoia - Kaan - 12-03-2018

she needs to stay in the city... in the country some redneck would have jumped out and put a gun in her face. "just in case" you know...

RE: Dash cameras: good idea or paranoia - rherold9 - 12-03-2018

I didn't say anything he did was wrong? I understand he was turning. Like I said the lady was crazy and the reaction was ridiculous. I would be in the left too if I have to turn. I usually move over to the left if I have about a mile to go. Other than that I'm in the right lane unless there is heavy traffic.

Yes, opinions are wrong just like I think yours is too if you want to go that route Smile

There are numerous times I'm on even a city street where I have to pass people in the right that are sitting there in the left. They never turn left even miles and miles down the road but still proceed to go slow. It's just as annoying in the city as it is on the highway. Just saying there is driving etiquette and it should apply even if it isn't "fine worthy".

i was just thinking that too.

you bring that kind of psychotic down here and you're getting double tapped.  every other car in my city is either someone in fatigues going to/from the base or has this on the back window:

(which is trashy as hell IMO but i'm just a ricer so what do i know)

Very few roads within Nova are completely possible to adhere to this.

Ummm....no. If you feel the need to pass, then pass. But unless there's a "slower traffic keep right", you can take your "opinion" and "etiquitte" and put it up yer butt.
