- Maengelito - 02-06-2007 haha, thread hijack is what MM is all about - .RJ - 02-23-2007 Update! I moved the bike over to the new place last night - under its own power Rides quite nice! Started up on the first *kick* and I tore out of my neighborhood, throttle pinned open, shifting at 10,000 rpm and as I click through 3rd gear I'm thinking "this thing is screamin! yeah!" and then I looked at the speedo... 55mph. Dammit ![]() Has a few issues that I need to sort out. Has a very high idle, I suspect a air leak in the carb boots and one of the float valves is still leaking - it wil drip fuel out as I'm riding it. I'm going to replace the floats and valves with OEM honda parts. Other than that... runs great! Should be ready for weekend rides by the time the weather warms up. - Feersty - 02-23-2007 Nice, glad to see it runs. - .RJ - 03-16-2007 OEM Honda float sets and larger main jets ordered and shipped..... way too much $$ but I wont have any more issues Hoping for a real ride on it next weekend - to Apoc's house so I can do a burnout on his lawn
- Apoc - 03-16-2007 That bike doesn't have enough power for burnouts... and if you manage one you'll just bin it. - .RJ - 03-16-2007 Why do you think I'm doing the burnout on your lawn? - Ginger - 03-16-2007 .RJ Wrote:Hoping for a real ride on it next weekend - to Apoc's house so I can do a burnout on his lawn 40Hp ride? For guys who've only got forty horses, and guys who ride like that's all they've got. - .RJ - 03-16-2007 Its on! - Apoc - 03-16-2007 I'll be lucky if I have more than 45 so I'll definitely ride like I have less than that. - .RJ - 03-16-2007 Apoc Wrote:I'll be lucky if I have more than 45 so I'll definitely ride like I have less than that. Your bobo ass cruiser only makes 45hp? - Apoc - 03-16-2007 Don't be jealous. - PGK - 03-17-2007 I've got 40hp! - .RJ - 03-24-2007 After a few rounds of fixing one problem, creating 2 more and basically letting murphy make me his bitch for a few nights, she's road worthy Just took her for a ~10 mile ride around falls church - its awesome. I need to do some plug readings to see how the fueling is working but on the short ride it felt great - small hesitation when rolling on the throttle, but thats about it - pulled strong all the way to 10k, no flat spots or sputtering. Rides nice, looks good, I'm happy - I think the "project" part of the bike is done and now I get to enjoy it - I'm doing a vintage/cafe bike ride with some local guys next month, that will be alot of fun.I got tags today as well, antique of course ![]() - Ryan T - 03-24-2007 Awesome man! Glad the ole classic is on the road. - Feersty - 03-24-2007 How many bikes are in that garage? Damn. - PGK - 03-24-2007 .RJ Wrote:small hesitation when rolling on the throttle, but thats about it That's normal with slide carbsÔÇöif you've got accelerator pumps (which I seem to recall you do) you can whack it all the way open and it shouldn't hesitate. - .RJ - 03-24-2007 No accelerator pumps
- .RJ - 04-01-2007 Further progress..... sync'ed the carbs and set the timing today. Wow, what a difference, the bike runs so much smoother than before! Plugs look a nice light tan color, I think its as good as its really going to get - oh and it sounds pretty mean too ![]() It runs vary nice!
- Goodspeed - 04-01-2007 Awesome, good to hear its up and running. One question though, what happens if someone wants to take a bike out thats blocked by all the others? That must make for some fun times at your place  - .RJ - 04-01-2007 Well, Gerald's 600RR and Andrew's F4 arent really running right now, and the black GSXR (against the shelves in the pic) isnt really ridden, its just polished alot Me and Andrew ride every day.
