Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - fiveoh2go - 10-09-2009 ^ Is it just coincidence that the other cars listed had four less cylinders than the 'Vette too? Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Steve85 - 10-09-2009 1989 Corvette 245hp / 3330lbs 2008 S2000 237hp / 2800lbs + 19yrs of chassis R&D. Physics doesn't know how to count cylinders. WIN! Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Steve85 - 10-09-2009 With that logic Long Runner TPI SBC > F1 engine. I thought you were a drag race fan? When was the last time guys were building 4300 rpm stump puller motors to go fast? 0 - 60 1989 Corvette.....6.2 2008 S2000.......5.8 I have nothing against the cars it beat... I'm just not aware of any other car that has remained competitive for 20 years that is so maligned. Quote:It's a Ford/Chevy/import thing....I didn't see any Fords in list Ooooohhh burrrrrn  And just to be on topic, a little: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4s-for-sale-wanted/2434711-fs-1989-unconverted-corvette-challenge.html Of course you can pick up a less rare car for half that. Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-09-2009 Steve85 Wrote:With that logic Long Runner TPI SBC > F1 engine. I thought you were a drag race fan? When was the last time guys were building 4300 rpm stump puller motors to go fast? Your logic is hugely fail. Guess what cars are destroying in ST, Civic Hatchs that are 20 years old. The classing system puts your car where it is. Some cars are better "classed" and some arent. An older car such as a vette was way more of a "car" back in the day, but now its back in the classes, compared to a Super Stock C6 regular vette. And this is ignoring all the milion variables that include Course Design, Tire that guy chose, Driver skill that guy is, etc. So in reality, the 89 corvette is an A-stock (I assume cause its s2000s), and I say thats impressive, but definitely not the only car that is older but still competitive. I would say the king of that remains to be the old 80s civics. But you want to know something way more impressive? FD rx7s in Super Stock....yeah wtf, classed the same as a new corvette) Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - fiveoh2go - 10-09-2009 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Steve85 Wrote:With that logic Long Runner TPI SBC > F1 engine. Yeah, what DJ said.... :bootyshake: Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - fiveoh2go - 10-09-2009 '89 SHO - tons-o-miles but in mint condition - $3.5k http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=101611 Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Steve85 - 10-09-2009 It's only a logic fail, when there is a read fail: Quote:I have nothing against the cars it beat... I'm just not aware of any other car that has remained competitive for 20 years that is so maligned. You make a great argument against "The C4 is the only 20 yr old competitive car" People leg hump the shit out of old Civics and FD's. I stand by my claim.
