RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Kaan - 11-10-2020 it would also be nice to be able to rent a full size dump trailer and redo my gravel driveway for the price of the trailer (yes we have free gravel here)... instead of the several thousand dollars folks want to drop stone in their dump trucks. A slightly bigger truck would be nice but not necessary... i've lived with a Tundra this long. Sure, and trucks are *much* nicer places to spend time in, tow better, are safer, better features and all, its definitely worth getting into something you dont have to worry about thats comfortable all day.... But, is it worth an extra $10 or $20k to tow a whole horse farm at 80mph up a mountain? That was my counterpoint. If it is, more power (literally) to you. Even something 'simple' like a newer V8 F150 is pretty amazing. They are reliable and easy going... maintenance is a breeze. it might just suffer going up afton mountain or towing in more adverse weather. when its time to switch, who knows what the market will look like... since Toyota is looking to go V6TT... but you dont get a lot of truck for the money. At the beginning of this year, I upgraded from my '10 SR5 Tundra to a '20 Limited Tundra and couldn't be happier. Just the interior comfort was worth it to me, especially after several days at the track. The wife likes it too and we use it for family trips, it's really a nice place to spend time. I have a steel open trailer as well as a enclosed and it does fine with either (I keep my speed below 70 mph when towing), and have no issues climbing Afton Mountain with the enclosed. MPG suck, but it's a truck, so whatever. I have the TRD rear sway bar and swapped E-sidewall tires on mine and no issues. Tow mode seems to make a much bigger difference than in my '10, and the back up camera, and more importantly, headlights are a vast improvement. Regarding the transmission cooler. When I bought mine I had no idea it was a thing, and the window sticker says it has one installed (wonder if I can make them install one lol), but I monitor transmission temp with a scan gauge and haven't noticed any real difference between the '10 and '20 in transmission temperatures. Both had the "towing package" WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - JPolen01 - 11-10-2020 If the window sticker says it has one, is it actually not there? Scott is talking about a transmission cooler, which his truck has as indicated on the window sticker. The newer Tundras do not have an engine oil cooler. Jake is correct. According to the internet, beginning with 2020 Tundra's they removed the external transmission cooler, even though the window sticker says it has one. I can confirm there is not one external. Thats the dilemma RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - .RJ - 11-12-2020 (11-12-2020, 08:05 AM)Kaan Wrote: when a used Tundra and 2500 cost the same... why not go with the bigger truck?
