Does anyone else think it's retarded to pay almost 30k for a 15 year old mazda?

fuck...that's hot

$30k is a lot, but it's like paying for a reliable classic RX7 with a well-swapped v8

- Dave - 04-16-2008

mmmmm, that is tasty....

yeah, I wasn't really impressed...especially since you could buy that drivetrain pretty much on the cheap since the LS6 came out. I guess thats why it's been for sale for quite a while already

I suppose, if you look at it as simple dollars and cents. But I don't think that applies to a niche-used car. Despite the ever-increasing new car performance market, there are still people out there like me that would gladly pay 30 grand for a decade-plus old car such as this rather than on a new 350Z, Mustang, etc.

- .RJ - 04-16-2008

I would do illegal things to that RX7.

One of these days...

- Apoc - 04-16-2008

The first person I ever saw driving an RX-7 was a hair dresser. That car is forever ruined.

Cheap = $12k? I priced an LT1 motor for my boat and it was $10k (of course that was 6 years ago......)

- HAULN-SS - 04-17-2008

12k will buy you an LS7 crate motor these days, which an LS1 and LT1 is a far cry from.

Edit: hell, I just looked it up, and you can get a long block LS2 for $5500 for an instant 400hp - just add starter, basically.

I felt this worthy of posting:

Do not distract him.

Jeff, finish the damn daytona already.

10k for a 1986 Monte Carlo SS aerocoupe. This is a super rare car - 1 of 200 made. He said in the thread this is #65 i think. This car won't do anything but go up in value, as long as it's not wrapped around a tree. This is not a bad price, as a standard unrestored 86 SS would cost at least 6k these days.

- HAULN-SS - 04-30-2008

Hrmm - sorry the pics didnt work. They are definately a love'em or hate'em kind of car. They also made the grand prix 2+2 that has the same form, which is wayyy uglier. I kind of like these though...
