That said, you're on crack if a rusty looking cast-iron log manifold looks better than a proper set of coated long tubes, like on the M3 V8. - HAULN-SS - 03-26-2007 you know 50hp/L isnt much, right? I'm not talking about the type rex just posted..I'm talking about like 3 1/2" log that runs across in front of the exhaust ports in the head, and then the tubes come out of that - so it's all collected right at the cylinder head - .RJ - 03-26-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:you know 50hp/L isnt much, right? Thats the whole point, v8 fanboi - HAULN-SS - 03-26-2007 Well, anyway, the whole point of a system like that is to increase scavenging. I did a lot of looking into all that when i did my exhaust system - I couldnt afford equal length headers, but I do have shorty style headers with 3" collectors going into 2 1/2" pipes with an X-pipe I dont think that qualifies me as a fanboy...a fanboy would have kept the stock system wtih like, some sweet cherry bombs, yo...or flowmasters! - WRXtranceformed - 03-26-2007 Equal length headers ftw! Too bad my car doesn't sound like a boxer anymore =( - PGK - 03-26-2007 .RJ Wrote:Looks like there are piston rings... although only two of them. That is one hell of a short piston though. The rods look like they're "broken" too - i forget the correct technical term for it, but it gives a better fit on assembly than a flat rod cap - ford did this on some of their engines i believe. *yawn* two-ring pistons and cracked con-rods are old news for bikes. Looks like they stole some tech from the K1200x motor (which was stolen from their F1 motors) for this thing. |
