damn Thayer, if i knew you had that i wouldn't have sold my old Tamiya TA02FF! we could have had some epic touring battles.

I have a Team Associated TC3 with all the drive train and bearings from Niftech... but i went away from their axels and went with the titanium ones from some other company.

My batteries used to be free since i was "sponcered" from SMC battery company. BUT they they want you to drive in 19T, stock, and Modified... you need 3 sets of diffs... and they werent paying for that lol... so after winning 19T one year and placing 4 and 7 in stock and modified... i bagged them and just kept in it with 19t and used their batteries they gave me the next year after i cycled them Wink

i did bring the car to a couple MM meetings back in the day... to leave marks on the ISAT floors Smile and to show off the MM/Bimmer World M3 body i painted.

i have no idea what i'll be getting. i'm still too new to really b thinking about a 2nd car, but damn seeing people drive through fields and shit is awesome. i have no idea what i'll get, but nitro is the way to go.

i bought my RC10GT nitro stadium truck used, for 280 bucks, with everything except the electronics and a radio. that included a bump starter for the engine too. check out RC forums and ebay for deals.

stadium trucks rock because they can take a ton of abuse and there will always be a race class for them (which is a very popular one i might add)

- Mike - 10-14-2005

yeah i was considering a stadium truck too because it seems really hard to find nitro buggies.

yeah, they had a conversion kit out yearrrss ago for RC10 2wd buggies, but it never caught on.

i think what it basically comes down to is that people like 2wd buggies because they are very agile compared to trucks. when you bolt in a hunk of a nitro engine, the buggies lose that agility. the trucks, by comparison, have much wider stances and fatter tires so they don't change too much compared to their electric brethren.

now if you want 4wd, the 1/8 scale 4wd nitro buggy category is really popular. those things are brutal though, they weight like 8 pounds and have .21 engines.

man i remember that RC car you had before scotty. that thing was cool as hell! fast and fun man....brings me back to the tire fights we had in the apartment (we liked to throw the damn things at each other - oddly enough we weren't drunk)

ha, i was looking all last night for that picture of my buggy ramping over Kym in our living room.....do you have that? leaving rubber donuts on the kitchen floor was cool too

the tire fight was ridiculous. those spikes hurt.

whoa you really did toast that gear! and do my eyes decieve me, or is your car a 2 speed? having those spurs side by side makes me think so.

also, here's a link to some great videos (the bmx vs. buggy on a moto-x track is cool) put out by rc car action magazine -- which is a good resource btw.

- Mike - 10-14-2005

Tongue in the pretty open parking lot we have here i'd say it is just about uncontrolably fast.

- Mike - 10-15-2005

back together and as fast as ever! weeee for taking it to the track tomorrow.
