Sure.

ok i dunno who is incharge of planning all this... so i dont know who to ask, tell, whatever. my roomates band will play a set for the party if you guys want.

www.global-lull.com ... listen to the music and see if you want them there of not. you gotta let me know so we can plan what to bring, and how many hotel rooms and such.

- Mike - 04-06-2004

maybe they could play at the bbq? they're certainly welcome to, just let us know what they'd need.

- Kaan - 04-06-2004

so, do you want them there or not? they would rather play the party then the bbq... more exposure i guess. let me know... 2 of them are just coming down to party i think.

- Mike - 04-06-2004

works for me, ask the guys that own the house. i'm sure it's not an issue though. i just don't know where they'd set up :?

everybody is talking about donations and such, so this is the best way I can think to do it for now. If you have a paypal account, send me your donation (whatever you think this party is worth) to
anthracitena@yahoo.com
This will allow me to keep track of all donations made and will give money before the actual party to go ahead and make purchases. I will keep a record of all expenses made (since I will probably go ahead and make all of them at Costco, Mike's mart, Vic Secret, etc). Anything leftover (highly unlikely :-D ) will be either a) returned in proportion to donation amount or b) converted to a donation to MM (you can also opt to donate to the David is poor fund). If you like this idea, feel free to go ahead and make your donation; or voice your opinion on what you think might be a better way.

I'd throw some money in but I don't know for sure if I'll be able to come. The 17th is my first day on the schedule again at Allsports after being off for 2 straight weeks so they'll prolly have me close. If not then I'll be out there for some fun and give up some money right then. Might also stop off and bring my own special prize for the ladies.

- Evan - 04-06-2004

*shakes head*

minimum wage isnt worth missing MM shenanigans.
maybe you missed the "anything for money" part? Wink
the fact that you are even considering missing it for some PT job means that you are going to get a nut-punch next time I see you Tongue

- Dave - 04-07-2004

OK, I've come to a dillemma. We need to determine how much money is going to be donated before we can determine how much party stuff we can afford. MM is footing the whole bill for the BBQ, so all donations will be strictly used to make this thing HUGE. Even if you can't paypal me the money (anthracitena@yahoo.com), then just IM/PM me and tell me how much you're gonna donate. If you can't that's ok, but all help is appreciated and will be used to YOUR benefit Big Grin Anything leftover will be returned or donated to the club, as all donations will be recorded.
Things we want to get, listed in priority:
beverages (~$150-$200)
$175 in Victoria's Secret gift certificates (1-$100, 1-$75)
2-3 large bins of juice with fruit
dance pole
ice luge (I'm trying to devise a way to make my own)
bubble/fog machine (if this can be donated from somebody, even better)

TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS SO THIS THING IS A HIT!!!! I cannot stress enough how important it is that everybody knows. If I need to make up a god damned poster, I'll do it.

just remember not to associate party fliers with the club. don't mention MM on them, thanks.

- ScottyB - 04-08-2004

yeah, good call man. i just kind of did that as a joke, but yeah, i will make sure not to have too much stuff on there that would give anyone or anything associated with MM a bad name.

- Mike - 04-08-2004

fliers for a party? no.

- .RJ - 04-08-2004

MichaelJComputer Wrote:fliers for a party? no.

What he said.

Clubs & Orgs would love to see that......

- Dave - 04-08-2004

as long as there is no association with cars or MM, I can't see why it wouldn't be all right.
I'm no artist or photochopper, so I was thinkin primarily a posterboard with some markers telling everybody to come to our party, so nothing real elaborate.

Dave Wrote:as long as there is no association with cars or MM, I can't see why it wouldn't be all right.

Its not a University approved event.........

Besides, it is an MM party, and we dont want to do anything that will make clubs & orgs hate us even more.

- Evan - 04-08-2004

*shrug*
there were always club parties when I was there at JMU. None of them got shut down
Hell even the ultimate frisbee people threw parties.
Fliers are probably not a good idea, but when talking about the party, I see no reason why it cant be called a Madison Motorsports party.

What makes you think clubs&orgs hates the club? I used to work for clubs and orgs about the time the club was getting off the ground and never heard any grumblings.

- .RJ - 04-08-2004

Evan Wrote:and never heard any grumblings.

They were not very enthusiastic with their support for the club. I'll leave it at that.

I just want to diffuse any potential problems for the club before they happen. Talk up the party, get all the whores we can find, but passing out "MM Party Flyers - 10 kegs and everyone gets laid!" is a bad idea.
