Official April 17th planning thread
#1
Aight, since this is going to be a big day, we need to make sure it goes off smoothly. I know all of the tiny facets of the carshow will be covered in the other thread, so try to keep that out of here. This thread should be more for general planning of how the day will work and what needs to be done for the party. If we can take care of a lot of stuff ahead of time, we can all enjoy the day's festivities without being burdened by having to worry about getting shit done that night in preparation.

1) I know several of you guys are traveling quite a distance to get to this, so if you want to come up on Friday, I can try to accomodate several people, but I need to know ahead of time how many of you want to stay at the house, etc. I'm sure there are also a number of other MM'ers with places they can offer some space to crash
2) The last time that I hosted a party, it sucked ass, plain and simple. It was cool getting to chill with all the guyz, but there were no ladies and we all ended up just getting totaly f'ed up instead of getting the pimp on. It was sad. The SOLE reason for this occurence was simply because we didn't get the word out. We have to do better this time. Everybody needs to start talking it up now so that people know where to go that night (you can throw in the good word for the car show while you're at it Big Grin). I want to be able to check the profile of every MMer and see an advertisement for this thing. You guys in the dorms have ample opportunities to recruit hot, young sluts for the party. I mean for God's sake you live with them! Smile Talk it up people!
3) Where the hell is the party being held? I originally was gonna host, then Travis offered up with a live band, and now I'm being I'm hosting again? Travis, if you'd like, we can move your party entourage to our place and then you can host another if that would be preferable. We need to solidify this.
4) We always end up scrambling at the end of the day to make party music for the night. Lets remedy this before April 17th please. I can't DL music, but I will be more than happy to burn music CDs if you need me to. Just get me the music. Otherwise, we need somebody to offer up thier services to be our "DJ" and make some good groovin music.
5) Anybody got a truck to pick stuff up? RJ's akkord came in handy to pick them up last time, but a truck would be best. I imagine they will get picked up during the same time that the BBQ is going on.
6) Two words: "Tony Roma's" My supply is dwindling and will try to pick up some more en route the CMP next weekend, but I know there are others that have some, we need varieties of this thick burgandy crack to put on our grillins.
7) We also need to figure out who has a grill for the cookout and what we're going to eat. Costco closeby makes it easy, but we need somebody to step it up here. Again, I can help since I've got a membership there, but I can't head it up.
8 ) Any monetary contributions that you want to make will be gladly accepted, as I can see this thing is gonna get pretty expensive when you total it all together.
9) I guess we should hire a hitman for "the roomate" while we're at it.
10) "Heeeey yooouuu guuuyss". Lets not let it happen again. Make this thing a success and ensure that MM ends the semester with a huge success at the carshow and the party.

To be the best it can be, I want to have the stuff for the cookout, music, and all other accompanying tidbits done before the 17th. That way, the only thing that will need to be done during the cookout will be cleaning up the lounging areas (pretty easy to do), getting the kegs, and watching the stream of women come from the dorms and outlying apartment complexes.

We decided at the officer's meeting to keep the party at Dave's. This is not aimed at Travis in any way, we feel the general location in relation to the show/BBQ is more convienent. Travis, if you would like to combine your party with us at Dave's, that would be awesome. I know you said it doesn't matter where because you would come to both. I hope this works for everyone.

Like Dave said: Talk this UP!!

Kaan- you're the man for the grill (who has a grill?)

We'll make a costco trip and get food supplies (hot dogs, burgers, buns, ketchup, mustard, sodas) with club funds, but it would be nice to have some donations for the food.

Music? Sean, can we use your speakers and run a constant playlist from your computer? This is how we do it at my place and it works well. Just put a fan on your receiver so keep it from over heating (bad experience for us...)

Parking is right behind Dave's house in the hospital lot. Remember, no one needs hospital treatment on the weekends, so its always empty

Beverages other than soda will need to be handled as well, someone will need to head that up and get donations.

2) What you guys should do is make it a mixer between MM and a couple of other clubs. Maybe invite 2 or 3 girls clubs and 1 or 2 guys clubs (or none for that matter).

4) We should try to get speakers for the patio/outside area so we'll have some party overflow area.

5) Truck for kegs? I should have that handled by then Smile

6) Tony Roma's....Ahhhhhhhhhhhh *salivates* NURSE!!! GET ME AN IV FOR MY TONY ROMA'S!!!

7) I have grill and I can bring grill

8 ) Well I've blown a good deal of $ at bars and such on the road so I have no problem blowing money for the double M's. I'll buy a keg of Killian's and put up money for the wet t-shirt contest. How much do we want to reward the lovely ladies for their willingness to *ahem*...perform?
Maybe we can give them MM baby tees too.

I think Dave covered all of the major bases already. I'll be trying to not party too hard cause I want to do a kart race the next day in NY but I'm not sure if I'll be doing it.

You can talk about it, but not in relation to an event we're holding - that's how clubs lose their recognition from JMU. Granted we don't get much from them and it wouldn't be the end of the club, it's still nice to be recognized Tongue

Well i'm glad that midget gang bangs with Evan's mom filming it are better than having a few beers.

Although the party is not a "club" event Wink Not like we're talking about rolling kegs down to the hillside lot for the show.
