I'll be sure to ride my bike down the front staircase or something to keep the tradition alive.

@Brandon

Can someone share a finalized schedule of the events going on around Turducken? I saw a post on Facebook, but it'd be nice if it were here. I don't want to dick around in Harrisonburg all reason for no reason. @Chris, what time do you want people to head over? When should I arrive if I'm helping set up?

"In the morning from 10am-12, MAAP and MM will be having a car show at the City Municipal Building (next to the farmers market) as part of MAAP's Fall Fling. MM students and alum will have their own section reserved, and the rest will be full of classic Porsches and other cool cars!

Then we can all head to Chris’ house for the normal Turducken shenanigans. There will also be a MAAP open house between 2-4pm.

Finally, on Sunday the 21st, MM will be leading a PCA cruise up 33 West towards the campsite. All Alum, family, and friends are welcome to join. That will start at 10am, and we will be meeting at MAAP to begin the cruise.

FYI - MAAP address is:

1070 Virginia Ave
Harrisonburg, VA 22802"

What you just posted is the finalized schedule? What more are you asking for?

RE: Turducken 2018 - 10/20/18 - Jake - 10-18-2018

Bullet points, darling.

Saturday
10a - 12p: MAAP & MM Car Show @ City Municipal Building
2p - 4p: MAAP Open House @ 1070 Virginia Ave
3p - Whenever: Turducken! @ 285 Magnolia Court, McGaheysville VA

Sunday
10a - Whenever: MM & PCA Cruise up 33 West - Meet @ MAAP, 1070 Virginia Ave

Presumably Chris wants us there about 3:00 even if we are setting up, I'm not sure there's a huge rush to have everything "just so" right at 3.

I'll be arriving in town around 1:00 with Dave's new janky-ass truck, and will wander over to MAAP if I have free time between arrival and 'ducken.

RE: Turducken 2018 - 10/20/18 - Senor_Taylor - 10-18-2018

Just confirmation that's all still on since it was never posted here. Thanks.

RE: Turducken 2018 - 10/20/18 - Deceus - 10-18-2018

Yeah I'll be heading home after the car show and anyone else is welcomed to do the same if they wanna pre-game or help setup. Probably won't be much to do setup wise since I plan on taking care of most of the work today and tomorrow.

I'm glad everyone seemed to have a good time and the weather was perfect. Sorry about the cop being a dick about parking. There was at least a dozen complaints filed against him though so hopefully that wont be an issue in the future because no one was actually blocking the road.

Man, this was awesome! Thank you Chris for hosting!

Thank you current students and alumni who came. You're all great people and it was a blast hanging with everyone!

In unrelated news, my back hurts a lot.

Did you drive in a Miata for any amount of time?

RE: Turducken 2018 - 10/20/18 - Jake - 10-22-2018

Wondering who will have to move their car next:

At some point we ran out of paper plates, so hands were the next best option:

Then we had a group workout, in which Greg sprinted:

and Taylor decided a lack of Miata ownership was no excuse for a healthy back:

I'm gonna start training now for next year's drunken deadlift challenge

I feel like we set it pretty early this year as well, but sure, we'll do it again. Haha

I think the date was set earlier than I've known about in the future. Then again, the last turducken I made was in Falls Church at RJ's and G's place where G came down in costume as Ashy Larry (fucking hilarious).

RE: Turducken 2018 - 10/20/18 - Deceus - 10-22-2018

For the record there was like 1000 paper plates in the pantry but I was pretty hammered by the time I finished my 3rd Aslin beer and wasn't keeping tabs on anything going on in the kitchen after I burned the shit out of Chase's rolls.

I'm down to host again this year, just throwing that out there.

That might be perfect, it was an awesome location and you were a great host! We’ll sync up in a few weeks and start to plan it out. Definitely want to come out and smoke some BBQ because that was too good to not have more than once.
